Teachers are never cruel on the first day of school.
All of that begins midway through 2nd quarter. |

heeey it's fine,
don't worry. I was in 9th grade last year.
at first I was nervous because it's a bigger school
but you will meet new tons of friends and it'd be fun.
depending on your teachers, they sometimes will be strict
because you guys just came from middle school, but
in about a few weeks, you will get used to it. Things will
likely change from middle school as it may get harder.
Don't stress though! |

@ilogan @wintell okay thank you, im trying to get my act together and start this thing, this homework seems pretty easy
by the way, another question lmao, its relevant to my summer homework. the teacher says to write only on the front pages. does this mean the front and back? on the right side of the page? left side? i dont wanna screw this up :'0

@op
uhh I'd be guessing it's front as in "front and back" but i don't know. I'd have to see it to answer your question. |

@budder idk if theyd let me do that, i think i was told "once ur in pre AP/AP classes, u cant downgrade", i dont know
@ilogon i cant really link stuff anymore, (hell not even twitter) made too many posts of offsite stuff.. but heres a part regarding to the front page thing
"For this novel, keep a reader-response journal as you read in a SPIRAL notebook – remember to use the front of the pages only. 1. READ THE FIRST 50 PAGES OF THE NOVEL BEFORE STARTING YOUR READER- RESPONSE JOURNAL. 2. Draw a line down the middle of the page. 3. Left side: put page number in margin and copy meaningful passages from the book – perhaps a bit of dialogue, a description, or a character's thought(s). Make it at least a complete sentence BUT not more than five-seven sentences long. REMEMBER: You will have no passages from the first 50 pages of the novel. 4. Right side: write your response to the quotation – Why did you choose it? Did it puzzle or confuse you? Remind you of something? What does it mean to you? a. If you choose to comment on a personal experience, be sure to connect it to what is happening IN THE NOVEL at that point so I see your reaction to and understanding OF THE NOVEL (characters, events, setting, etc.). b. REALIZE: these entries are NOT a summary or paraphrasing of your reading – it is your RESPONSE to the passage. c. A good, thoughtful, developed response is no less than 5 sentences. Seriously, I count sentences!
@wintell well, i was told to write in a spiral notebook, so im confused on the composition and orientation of this all. but saying "front and back" and just "front" is all she wants, im assuming its just the right page! i dont know for sure..

@ilogan yeah, i guess so, thanks :>
@wintell yeah, like as in "front and back", she wants the front side? which im gonna assume ill be skipping the back side (wtf am i saying lmao) and no i dont get the middle part, but if i read along, put where my pen is on the paper and everything, i guess thats where i draw that line??

It means you don't do it front and back.
If you write on the front of the page and then the back of the page the teacher will likely not even accept it and you will fail the assignment.
Its better for you to just write on one side and then get a new sheet of paper and staple them together.
Just make sure you answer the questions and you have a lot of detail.
Detail= Happy teacher |

Oh and make sure you get someone to check your grammar and spelling and punctuation. Teachers in 9th grade are very picky with that kind of thing.
And direct quotes from the book are also a good way to impress your teacher. |
