Probably because when you modify both sides of the constraint, it equates to 1. I'm not entirely sure though, I don't remember too much about this other than that it's what the guide showed.

| The 0.5 is because you're applying the translation evenly to both points. |

| Yes I'm sure. It's evenly applying the translation among both points by applying 0.5*t to either point (because there are 2 points). |
