So basically I wrote up a nice little thread arguing against the cynics, but stupid ROBLOX forum filters are preventing me from posting it.
What I want to say here is that as long as you REALLY understand the client-server model, FE isn't hard and won't make development any harder. I don't think new players should implement FE the day they start scripting, but after they want to create games, yes, they should know it.
Security issues are mostly because people implement FE improperly. People say it's not 100% perfect - but it doesn't have to be, it's a million times better than not having FE.
Stop hating on it so much.

FE does prevent a skidsploiter from loading the latest and greatest dll in your game, and then proceeding to clear the workspace and the game entirely, and he does have a great point.
To be honest, I'm in support of FE as well. |

I'm in full-support in FE.
Even if exploiting was nonexistent, I'd still use FE. It seems smoother, and cleaner. |

| I haven't found any legit reason to hate on Filtering, so as far as I'm concerned, anyone who considers it 'terrible' is misinformed, doesn't know how it works, or is booing. |

Well booing didn't hate on it, he called it an "okay solution for now", he is not advocating against its use. He brings up fair points that it is imperfect - my point is not to tell everyone FE is God and if you click a button it'll make your game protected by a team of angels, my point is that it's far better than NOT having it.

using fe and the client-server model that comes with it is very good, for exploiters AND for learning when learning to apply so when you create your own networked system

FE makes the client-server model more realistic in an excellent way
doing things from a localscript that only the server should be able to do in the first place helps you with game coding later in life since that is somewhat accurate of the real game model
back before FE it made no sense that you could edit parts in workspace from a localscript
i mean, no practical game in the real world is similar to that in any respect

Not using Filtering Enabled is just clinging to old ROBLOX.
It opens up more opportunities, you can create the same effects that you can do without it, with it, you are just being more secure when you use it.

FE can be disabled by hackers. There is a anti FE dll there is a Ant Memcheck dll put two of them together and well, your screwed
