| Windows 10 is statistically the preferred OS, for novice or intermediate users. Not many computer professionals use Windows 10 as their main OS. Just like how most computer professionals won't use Norton Antivirus. |

The thing that I highly dislike about Windows 10 is the whole entire approach. I do not agree with the forced-updates at all. I also do not agree with the whole app movement. My desktop PC is a desktop PC, not a damn iPhone.
And I absolutely hate the Microsoft account integration, forced OneDrive, Cortana, telemetry... a lot of aspects. |

| I read an article and windows 10 is getting data on apps we use and how long we use it and if we use the windows 10 store and on what apps we install from it and loads of other stuff. Not worth it if you ask me. |

When it comes down to statistically preferred OS its GNU/Linux. More computers run GNU/Linux than Windows. But when it comes down to the Desktop market, yeah Windows windows wins.

"yeah jesus christ can they go back to windows 95 with auto updates like dang" It's not even benificial to the average PC user. I get so many complaints with Windows 8.1/Windows 10 because of the automatic updates. They take up a massive amount of CPU space, at the most inconvenient times.
One thing that is very questionable about the forced updates is, what if you absolutely need to get on the PC? Like someone's life is in danger and you need to access something on the PC, but it feels the need to update at that point of time. Microsoft, quit being so ignorant and realize that not everyone has Alzheimer's. We remember to update our PCs.. when we actually need to.
"you just search the web for updates or get notifications and then you do it. and i do hate the account integration too" But nooooo, Microsoft absolutely has to force it. Because your PC is going to die if it doesn't get the brand new updates every other week. /s
"but other than that windows 10 does have upsides" Yes, it's pretty stable and it runs much faster than other Windows OSes. It also fixed all of the terrible, terrible things wrong with the Windows 8 UI.
It's an OKAY operating system. Not good, just acceptable. |

"When it comes down to statistically preferred OS its GNU/Linux. More computers run GNU/Linux than Windows." I love it when I see businesses with servers that run on Windows.
Seriously, Windows isn't free. And it's not nearly as powerful as GNU/Linux (I don't usually call it that but I will be skinned alive if I don't include GNU, go figure) |

"More computers run GNU/Linux than Windows."
In terms of compatibility, yes, but in numbers for who uses it, no.
Windows 7 is run by 49.05% of PCs as of 2015 (PCmarketshare) Windows 10 is run by 19.14% of PCs Linux is run by 2% (inaccurate) of PCs
It's also worth noting that 17.79% of people use Windows XP or Windows 8.1, and roughly 5% of all people use Macintosh. Windows 8 is used by only 2.45% of PCs. The "Other" section is 5% of all OSes on PCs today

And the only reason why people use Windows is because they're used to it. If Linux had the same amount of program support and familiarity to Windows users, well, Microsoft would be dead.
Like, very very dead. |
