prisoners run away from prison, people run away when danger is close
If your cat ran away, then it definitely did not want to live with you.

i have, I'm simply saying that if it "ran away" it really must not have wanted to be your pet.
If it got out and got lost, I can understand.
But saying it ran away just compliments the fact that the cat was unhappy. |

I Just noticed this in common Speach that "ran away" really does not sound like the cat wanted to live with you.
Lol
Just an observation and opinion. |

@2013: Do you want to run away or get out?
That is the cat related question
Which phrase describes your current situation?

ever hear "curiosity killed the cat"
has 2 meanings, the meaning we all know, and the literal one
cats are curious, my cat's arent outdoor cats so they can't go outside, yet are fascinated with it
reason why is since theyve never been out there
so when your cat "escapes" it's probably just to explore since it's curious, most of the time they either get lost or just keep exploring and cant find home
anyways, my cats don't even try going outside, they like it inside more

my cat went for a 2 week wander and came back and just sat in her bed like nothing ever happened.
she died 3 weeks later from a paralysis tick. Australia's deadly y'all!!

It took a wander, it got out.
It ran away shows (in the literal sense) that it did not want to be with you. |

@pe
Then why did it come back, WHY did it come back? Because for the love of god, if I was a pet with my thought and I didn't want to be with my owner i'd literally just take a stroll into the bush and never return.
If it didn't want to be with us, than it wouldn't have come back.
And soldier, we did feed it. it was fat, and had 3 meals a day. because we loved her so much :)

@ 76: you used the correct word choice to describe your cat's "endeavor" and I applaud you for conscientious word choice

Yeah, but in america or britain it's not too deadly for a cat or dog to go for a day to a week,
but in china: people are hungry
and in Australia: Ixodes holocyclus, seriously go search it up. My cat died because she was putdown, because all of her legs were immobile, and the vet literally said it was ok and that she'd live :( .. One of my friends has a finger he can't move because of it.

Oh that's sad, I'm sorry for your loss. My cat was 24 when he died and went peacefully in my arms.

| I lost our cat, i'd like to get a new one and that's already alot to take care of, but then again cats are really easy to train feed, and all that. |

| They don't want to get away from you. They simply have spent their life domesticated, so when they go outside and explore it is a whole new dimension to them and they accidentally get lost and don't know how to come back or get caught up with whatever they are doing outside. |
