I got you.
Professional computer engineer here.
Linksys is a company that makes the routers/modem(s) he's using for the internet. It is not the service provider which provides the internet (also known as the ISP)
I can tell you now that he's probably turning it off himself. If the times it happens is randomized of course. Usually an ISP will set a specific time the internet gets shut off.
If he's unlatching the cord that provides service to your modem, you're screwed. (it looks like a circular tube to put it simply, and it's very hard to put back on while staying quiet lol)
If the modem itself remains on and he simply unplugs the ethernet cable that gives your particular router service (unless its a direct connection) ; then there are alternatives.
You could invest in a direct ethernet connection via powerline.
A powerline kit costs $50, has 2 boxes and some ethernet cables. Connect one box to an outlet near the modem and then hook up an ethernet cable (mind you, discretely) directly to the modem itself.
Next, get the other box and plug it into an outlet near your computer/laptop. Get the ethernet cable and hook it up to your laptop's ethernet port. A PC has different measurements though.
If your PC doesn't have a valid ethernet port, you'll need to install one.
Go online and search for a PCI-E ethernet card. Buy it, and then open up your PC (and this will only be necessary for a PC. not a laptop)
If your PC isn't old , it should have a spare PCI-E slot. If you look at where your graphics card is, it has a similar slot that your ethernet card uses. It also has a panel that faces on the back of the PC (where you can plug in stuff lol).
Install the ethernet card , if you have trouble just google it. It's really easy.
Afterward, get the ethernet cable that's wired to a power outlet near your PC and wire it directly.
The powerline connection utilizes the powerline of your house to provide (literally) a direct connection to your modem.
So long as you hide the powerline from your father (and he isn't tech savvy) ; you should be fine.
Bear in mind though, I went through the same thing you did when I had a controlling stepfather way back when. He simply started trusting me after time, and as the kid I was I did go against it obviously but.. he still taught me that I'll love getting sleep when I get a job and all that stuff (in which I already have. I enjoy sleep but I don't exactly need much lol)
good luck kiddo
