I know a bit of Lua so this shouldn't be too hard to make (and I think that it is achievable), but I want some input on this first before I go ahead with it.
So most FPS games now use the military theme. I'm definitely steering clear of that theme because of how commonly used it is, but I have no idea what to replace it with (thoughts on this are also much appreciated). There are also all of these popular modes like Capture The Flag, Team Deathmatch, Search & Destroy and whatnot that are easier to make, but also being overused and heavily reliant on teamwork; when developing something on roblox, teamwork is not something that I expect to see at all.
Basically there will be new game modes seen here. A "hot potato" could be one example, where instead of the guns doing damage, they fill up a bar above the head of the player. Once that bar is filled up, that player then gets the "hot potato" (or whatever item resembles it really; maybe it's just a status?) If they don't pass it fast enough, they die. Last player alive wins.
This could all be complemented with other modes like elimination, bounty hunting, possibly a new dodgems-esque mode etc. but I just want a general idea first.

| Yeah that's basically Traitor Town. I mean, I suppose I COULD port it over to my game considering its popularity, but I'm looking for new and unseen concepts too. We're all tired of seeing the steam game copies on the front page lol |

I like the idea of hot potato! But besides that, 100% original game-modes will be rather hard to come up with, but I do have a couple (terrible) ideas!
A game-mode where one player is chosen, and has triple the normal speed and is equipped with only a knife. All the remaining players' goal is to find and kill the player with the knife before they are all killed. (Friendly Fire: On)(Name tags: Off)
In the beginning of the match, 3 bombs are given to 3 random players and weapons are removed. The job of the other players is to find these players with the bombs and kill them before they go off (2 minute marker, or deployed, your choice). What makes this different? Every 20 seconds the bombs are given to new players, meaning you could find the player, and while chasing him, the bomb could switch! If you kill an innocent player, you die instead of the innocent player. (Friendly Fire: On)(Chat: Off)(Name tags: Off)

Thank you for your input! I realize that new game modes aren't easy, but they're all that make a game even better; originality is key.
As for your first suggestion, I'm not sure that would work so well. Your idea is basically mad murderer with 3x overpowered speed and being relegated to just a melee weapon, which I don't think is what people want to see.
Your second idea is also odd. Don't get me wrong, I like how you die instead of the victim if you shoot the wrong player (good concept there btw); it's just the rest of the idea that's confusing. Do the bombs explode? Are the players just bait for everyone else? It all seemed a bit vague when I first read. Idk, it could work if it were to be modified.

Nice, that kind of implements a competitive mode of racing to first place. Will consider making something as such. |

How about a mode in which one team has to defend a house, and there will be exploding walls. They have to defend a certain object/point/flare, and the pther team have to get it in a limited time.
PS, I have some guns, I'm willing to help u if u give me a fair pay!

Seems like an attack/defense + king of the hill hybrid tbh, but other than that, exploding walls sound interesting. Could you elaborate more on that please?
I've never had BC and only have 60 robux; pay probably won't be an option, but you could always help with development once I start monetizing my game and then I could pay you? |
