For saving single values I would recommend using the PlayerDataStore module.
http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=PlayerDataStore_module
PlayerDataStore makes it so you can make very quick requests to save and it only refreshes the DataStore every so often and when a player leaves to save requests.
When you issue require() on that module, you could do things like this very easily and just display this how you want to: _____________________________________________________________________________ local plds = require(script.PlayerDataStore)
game.Players.PlayerAdded:connect(function(pl) ds=plds:GetSaveData(pl)
local money = ds:Get("Money") or 0 -- set 0 to default number -- creates a local money variable that stores money number
-- looping code while wait(1) do -- every second money = money + 1 -- add 1 to the money variable ds:Set("Money", money) -- store it as the save data end
end) |
