Southern states have a lower cost of living.
That means your family needs less income to live decently.
And your family can't just move to the north if your parents don't have a job.
Your standard of living might actually decline in the North even if your income increases because of the excessive taxes of "progressives."

And I am a liberal but I wouldn't avoid conservative states just because they go against my political affiliation.
But if you were LGBT and wanted to marry it makes sense to live in a liberal state. |

The south is way better than the north. In the north, people are mean. In the south people are generally nicer, but yeah we are pretty conservative lol.
