Fellow robloxians, ROBLOX needs to sue Bloxcity for copying their website layout.
It's a terrible site, it's laggy, and some parts of the website don't even work.

@Skello You did the exact same thing. You just randomly spit an insult. And for your info, they straight up copied the dominus, the squid hats, the site layout, the catalog, need I say more?

BLOXCITY is still in its early stages, so that's to be expected.
Also you can't sue them for a their website layout. It's impossible for one company to own the intellectual property of a website design (You think ROBLOX has a monopoly on blue website colors and a fixed navbar? That's ridiculous)
They could only sue through things like their logo or pictures and maybe some of the meshes and clothing, but that's tricky because not only are those things possibly under fair use, but ROBLOX has even copied things themself so it might be dangerous for them to display such audacity.
Plus BLOXCITY currently isn't even worth suing or possible to sue. You're just a bandwagon hater.
I don't really care for BLOXCITY, but hating it is a waste of time, plus what makes ROBLOX so good anyway? In case you haven't noticed it's in the middle of a down spiral. |

Show me something from Bloxcity that is copied from ROBLOX with the exact same name and design.

The fact of the matter is ROBLOX can't sue them because they haven't used anything copyrighted, trademarked or patented.
Yes their intellectual property is protected under US law, but they can't actually sue unless BLOXCITY is using copyrighted material.
And you can't copyright things like a squid hat, the Dominus, etc, because those aren't intellectual property as they're too general. And if they try to get those things copyrighted then they may run into trouble with other copyrights.
They can't get the proper footing to lawfully do anything to BLOXCITY, plus ROBLOX is not squeaky clean on infringements as well.

| If you guys took a look at ROBLOX's patent list, they hold a patent on the design of the Catalog. Perfect grounds! |

The BLOX City opening page is a rip-off. You see one kid with a dominus and another with clockworks and a banded top hat.
BLOX City is pathetic just like Skill.
@Skill, stop being a smart-ass and just actually read what people write. You are waste of our time and you have no reason to be here. Your argument is invalid. |

"Your argument is invalid."
No it's not. ruin3D's responses are perfectly justifying my point on why ROBLOX cannot sue Bloxcity. You can't sue another website for its similarities to yours unless it is using something that you copyrighted/patented.

@wonderful
It isn't possible to copyright the whole Catalog design, only certain segmented patents can form a coherent safeguard of ROBLOX's Catalog.
Probably their images and icons are part of that patent, but things like their entire layout cannot be entirely protected under copyright, because those are generally used and not ROBLOX's intellectual property.
BLOXCITY hasn't used anything directly copying ROBLOX; they've just made their own cheap imitations.
Believe me if they could do something they probably would. |

I agree. I've noticed a lot of people on Bloxcity insult ROBLOX and think they are original. HA!
ROBLOX came out well before they did and they are trying to make a crappy rip off of this game.

Never mind. I found it.
"A computing appliance is provided and includes a processor, an Internet interface, a data store containing virtual catalog items for service through a website, and software executing from a machine-readable physical medium causing the computing appliance to record the number of impressions of each of the items that has occurred over a defined period, record the number of sales of each of items that has occurred over the defined period, calculate the average sales price for each of the items for the defined period, multiply the average sales price by the number of sales calculated previously for each item, divide the total sales figure derived for each item by the total number of impressions calculated for that item over the defined period deriving a revenue contribution value for each item, and in response to a request to display items, serving the items included in the request according to highest revenue contribution value."
That's not on the catalog design. Read it again.

That's the abstract, not the full patent. Check out the pictures. They have everything patented. |

You can't patent your entire catalog design. That patent is only for details such as recent average price and the graphs that you see. How about showing me the "full patent"?

Scroll down more, read the paragraph on the left. Every single part of the picture that has a number next to it is specified in the patent. |

| I'm using Google's patent search (Google Patents). Search "ROBLOX Corporation" and it's the patent "Method for sorting and displaying items in a virtual catalog". |

Listen, you aren't going to find anything about ROBLOX's color schemes or design protected under their patent.
They weren't the inventors of the color scheme blue red and white. They're not the inventors of their website layout. They've simply innovated what has come before them.
They can't sue because of these things because it's impossible to copyright these things under US law.
Learn something about intellectual property. They can only copyright and potentially sue for things that are COMPLETELY their original work with no outside sources or inspiration. If they even get into this mess it doesn't guarantee that they could fall victim to unforeseen countersuits.
BLOXCITY's website is a blatant imitation, yes, but not a blatant copyright. Copyright laws are very complicated, and plus there's no moral or legal grounds to sue them. At least not yet. |

Except it is possible and they are the inventors of the Catalog layout and it's literally the patent that I just told Skellobit about. |
