Well, I’ve known that this day was coming for a few months now. I will be leaving ROBLOX on July 19th. I do not expect to return for another two years. I’ve asked my friend SCS to keep an eye on my account while I’m gone, and I’m posting this thread so people don’t accuse me of being PGed when I return in two years. I’ve also decided to use this as an opportunity to write my roblox memoirs if you will. I’d also like to say a few words to some friends of mine I have on this site that I won’t see for a very long time.
2008 I first heard about ROBLOX from my friend SCS. The two of us have been friends for a long time. He told me about this cool brick building game where you could build anything. I was pretty excited about the idea, but my parents at the time felt that all online games had viruses, so I was unable to do anything but create an account. Luckily, I was able to play on my account when I visited SCS’s house. I remember that the very first game that I played was Heli-Wars Desert Attack. https://www.roblox.com/games/483633/Heli-Wars-Desert-Attack
2009 Eventually, sometime in 2009 I managed to get a laptop of my own and got ROBLOX there. The laptop was very weak, and the game lagged a great deal, but I was able to play ROBLOX at home. I loved it. I remember playing a lot of tycoons, specifically Shaakra’s Zombie Defense Tycoon. https://www.roblox.com/games/2557808/Shaakras-Zombie-Defence-v3-0-8 Since I was using a laptop and had no mouse, I was forced to play the game without a mose. I remember needing to maneuver the camera by using the Page Up and Page Down buttons since using the touchpad was too frustrating. I eventually got pretty good at it, but I still had a very laggy laptop.
Now that I had a laptop, I was also able to start creating places of my own. The very first finished place that I made was called Nature Observatory Camp Gone Wrong. https://www.roblox.com/games/3363437/Nature-Observatory-Camp-Gone-Wrong This was my first attempt at building things, and it’s obvious. Hey, at least I used Studio. I remember that it took me a good year to realize that I didn’t have to resize bricks by changing the size value in properties.
Nature Observatory Camp Gone Wrong may have been my first game, but it definitely wasn’t my most popular. For some reason, a really poorly made obstacle course has more visits than my other four places combined. https://www.roblox.com/games/11449397/Pikmin-Obstacle-Course-V2-6-1-Old-Version It’s really poorly made, but it was good practice for learning how to build. If you ask me, building an obstacle course is the best way to get started with building things in ROBLOX.
I made a whole lot of other games too, but I had to make alts since there was a one place per player limit at the time (unless you bought BC, TBC/OBC weren’t a thing yet.) Here are some of those games. Ducks vs Hunters: https://www.roblox.com/games/11449321/Ducks-vs-hunters Dark Invasion: https://www.roblox.com/games/11449376/Dark-invasion Astronauts vs Aliens: https://www.roblox.com/games/11449350/Astronauts-vs-Aliens-V-1-5-RECONSTRUCTION
I also created a group called The Robloxian Samurai during this time. I remember creating a base https://www.roblox.com/games/11449392/TRS-Clan-Base-BACK-IN-TIME and asking random people if they wanted to join the group. Keep in mind that there was no real group system at the time, so the only way to keep track of who was a member was by writing down their names. I took care of this problem by giving every single member of the group a little cubicle with their name on it.
2010 In 2010 I discovered other player's groups. My friend SCS introduced me to a group called Foxwing that was run by Holymac, a ROBLOX moderator at the time. Looking back, I realize that we never actually did anything in this war clan other than hang out and have fun. We never went to war with anyone. I also met a user named boring in this clan. SCS, boring, Holymac and I would hang out together a lot and we were all good friends. I still talk to boring every once in a while, but I haven’t talked to Holymac in ages. She left her job as a moderator a long time ago and I haven’t seen her in a long time.
During this period, I became an intense warclanner for a group called MGI. I have no idea what that stands for now and I don’t really care. Basically, the group had a list of players that they wanted to have assassinated. This normally consisted of players in rival clans and stuff like that. When I realized that a successful assassination would mean promotion, I went a bit nuts and cleared the list. If you look in my decals you can see each of my successful kills (7). I got all seven of them in one day. I was a busy bee. I did get promoted, but I later got bored with the group and left.
This year was the golden year for my TRS group. I updated the fort and I held a lot of meetings there. https://www.roblox.com/games/23959451/TRS-clan-Base I made a lot of friends from the group and it was a lot of fun. We never actually went to war with anyone (except the Elite Assassins, those guys were rude) but we had a lot of fun training together. SCS was in the group with me and he was my second in command. Here’s a picture of the two of us side by side. https://www.roblox.com/2-leaderz-item?id=15765958 I remember recruiting friends of mine from another site named mark600929, cj54mln and cool661. They were three of the more active members of my group, but they’ve all been inactive for years now. I also met an adorable guy named johns117. He was clearly very young and immature, but he was an ok guy. He’s inactive too.
At some point in this time I was playing a game of Rocket Arena (an old favorite) when I met a guy named lilmantate1. At the time, I thought he was a little annoying, but he was interested in joining my group so I got to know him better. He became one of my best friends that I met on this site and we played games together a lot. He’s the only person I know from back then who still plays ROBLOX. Sadly, we don’t talk much anymore. He’s a really cool guy though.
After realizing that I didn’t have to resize bricks in properties, I created one of my more ambitious projects at the time called The Void Knight’s Trial. https://www.roblox.com/games/24872364/The-Void-Knights-Trial-v1-8 Sadly, it never got many visits. I still use some of the maps I made for current projects however.
I also remade the first game I made (Nature Observatory Camp Gone Wrong) using my improved building skills. The difference in quality is incredible. https://www.roblox.com/games/24346056/Zombie-Island-V-3-1
2011 It was during this year that I became a staff member for Arbirator’s Roblox News. At the time, it was the #1 ROBLOX fan site on the internet. I was one of the place reviewers. I became a staff member after I won the moon base building contest with my entry “Moon Base Gamma.” https://www.roblox.com/games/12813795/Moon-Base-Gamma I continued to publish place review articles on the site for another two years. Looking back, I find it interesting that my prize for winning was being able to work for them. Oh well, it was fun. I had people send me requests to review their places all the time.
I’m not sure exactly when, but I know that at some point later in this year, TRS was completely inactive. I was pressed for cash at the time, so I sold it to someone who owned a large samurai clan. I’m not sure but I think his name was cougar147 or something like that. Anyway, the guy later abandoned the group as well, and now it’s abandoned and alone with no way for me to reclaim it. It still makes me sad thinking about it. https://www.roblox.com/Groups/Group.aspx?gid=3256
2012 During this year I spent a lot of time with The Vaxtarian Empire which was led by brickmaster564. He has since changed his username as well as his account. He goes by TheScourged now. I went all in with this group. I went to trainings, fought in raids, made friends. I even managed to be second in command for a while. The most important thing I did during this time was definitely the forts I made. I made two of them. Fort Tango: https://www.roblox.com/games/26417041/Fort-Tango Fort Epsilon: https://www.roblox.com/games/11449332/Fort-Epsilon Fort Tango was the main fort for the group, and just about every raid took place there. The group eventually broke apart for reasons that I can’t remember. TheScourged moved on and has made a lot of groups since then. I’ve been members of each of them, but I never put as much effort into them as I did with the first one.
2013-2014 I was pretty inactive during this time. I think that I might have been distracted by the Wii U I bought. I logged in every day, but it was mostly just for the tickets and events. I didn’t do much else.
2015 During this year I did a bit of trolling. I would go to serious war clan trainings and shout HAIL GERTY as much as I could. Sometimes I invited SCS to come along and help (he wasn’t a moderator at the time) and help me out. It started as a joke, but I eventually turned it into a group and created an elaborate backstory. It’s now actually possible to find out who GERTY is. It’s currently my primary group. While I did do a lot of trolling, I also did a lot of building. During this time I created three new games. I’ll start with Distant Planet Journey. Distant Planet Journey is a remake of my 2009 Pikmin obby and it is better in every way. Yet for some reason, it has 5,000 fewer visits. Oh well, I only made it for fun anyway. https://www.roblox.com/games/179929996/Distant-Planet-Journey-Pikmin-V-1-97
Another game I created during this period was a game called Slaying Shedletsky. I took the maps from my old Void Knight’s Trial place, and added the old King of the Hill script to it. Then I made a few changes, added a couple of maps, and called it good. I still think it turned out alright. https://www.roblox.com/games/345484734/Slaying-Shedletsky-V-1-1
The last game I made isn’t really a game at all. It’s more of a collection. When ROBLOX released the teleporting system, I realized that I was able to connect every single one of my places to one single place, or lobby. After I realized this, I made a huge lobby and basically stuffed it with nostalgia. It’s the ultimate nostalgia tour. It includes everything, from unfinished projects, to silly ideas. https://www.roblox.com/games/301541791/Banjobugs-Classic-Games-2008-2016
2016 Now we’re at the present. I’ve made a lot of new friends this year, and I’ll be sad to have to leave them for two years. Who knows if they’ll be inactive when I return? Who knows if I’ll even want to return in two years? During this time, SCS got a job as a moderator at ROBLOX. That was a bit of an eye-opener. I thought it was interesting how a game that the two of us had played as kids was now his job. It’s amazing to think about. We never thought that could happen back then, but now it’s a reality.
Farewells to Friends
SCS Congratulations on becoming a moderator. It sounds like the coolest job ever and I know you’ve always wanted to have it. I’ll miss you, but I know that I’ll still be able to contact you, unlike most of my other friends on this site. Please check in on my account every once in a while to make sure that no one has PGed it, that would be unfortunate. I’m counting on you to legitimize my return in two years.
Nintendofan54322 I’m sorry for never finishing that boulder course we were working on a while ago. Thanks for always being willing to help test my games with me. You’re a cool guy and I’ll miss you.
CustomCuber I suppose you’ll probably want to kick me out of my moderator position in Obbi Studios when I finally leave. Make sure you don’t forget about me. Thanks for all the fun.
Mark600929, cool661, cj54mln You guys are all inactive, so you’ll never read this. Thanks for all the great times we had, both on ROBLOX and off of it. I hope you guys are doing ok in life right now.
Lilmantate1 I know we haven’t talked in a while, but I still consider you to be a friend. I’ll see you around.
Ucaf909 You don’t talk to me anymore. You’ve made that perfectly clear. You’ll never read this message, but I’ve always wondered. Why? Why did you do that?
LQuippy Thanks for finding that stage 0 glitch in Distant Planet Journey. Thanks for helping me test my games. It was fun playing Framed together.
Boring We don’t talk too often anymore, but we’re still good friends. I just want to say that you still have an awesome username.
Commmanders Thanks for being my friend, no you can’t borrow my Crimson Catesye while I’m gone.
TheScourged TVE was fun stuff man, I hope you settle down and get a group going that won’t need a reset in a few years. Make something beautiful.
Bakkabooka You're my sister. Have fun on this site while I'm gone.
To everyone else I didn’t mention, thank you for being my friend, and also for helping me have such a great time on this site. I’ll miss you all.
Short version A lot of stuff can happen in eight years.
HAIL GERTY! |

@MarbloxVx
Thanks, that'd be great. This thread is basically proof that I'm not PGed when I come back in the future. |

That's actually a really great idea. I'll track it as well and try bumping it every few months, if you don't mind of course, Banjo?

I'll miss you, Banjobug. We had many great times on here. We spent countless hours playing Roblox over the years and I'll never forget that. I miss all our old friends, too. Mark600929 actually logged in again like, last year maybe? It might have been earlier this year, I honestly don't remember. I'll need to check. I think I saw cool661 check here again just a few months ago. I miss the times when all of us were active though. I talked to Boring just a few weeks ago, and that was pretty nostalgic.
It's hard to believe our TRS times were 7 years ago. In some ways it doesn't even feel that long ago, and in other ways it feels like thinking back on a different lifetime. I still remember all the fun times we had with that stuff and all our old friends.
I'll make sure your account stays safe and I hope to see you back here in 2 years. Thanks for your congratulations, and for always being a great friend. I'll always cherish and remember the fun times we had on here with all your awesome games and groups and just everything. Take care, Banjobug. |

@Guestly I have no problem with that. That'd be great.
@SCS I'll miss you too man. I heard that mark600929 logged in for a little bit but I didn't know that cool661 did. I wish they had shot me a PM. I wish I was able to reclaim TRS, but I guess that the group isn't really going anywhere. |

Pity to see you go, but at least you'll be back sometime in the future.
Was nice hanging out with you again, though we didn't do so very much. Thanks for being a good friend, back then and now. |

you made a good choice dude, you obviously couldn't say it in the thread but you definitely left because you were getting sick of roblox. i know that in your mind you hate roblox's community and events, but at least you left in a professional way fam :)
