Hi everyone,
At this point in time, I believe that there's a general understanding on how clan inactivity is largely caused by the inability of groups to attract new people. While mass recruitment from tycoons and other popular games are definitely good solutions, they are not entirely efficient, as many newly recruited players from these games don't get involved with the group. To fix this, clans should introduce combat-oriented games that provide presence to all of the groups involved in the game.
While the task at hand is easy to understand, its fulfillment certainly is not.
As some of you may already know, I, along with a team of developers have been working on integrating clans to games for almost 3 months now. In these 3 months we have accomplished quite a lot: a daily average player count of 8000, an average play time length of 16 minutes, receiving sponsorship from Merely and the registration of over 70 groups into our game - over 60 of which have registered in the past week alone. However, despite the resources we have accumulated and despite the tremendous skill of the team, creatively displaying all of the clan features we have in store for neweer players has been challenging us. I think that we are not very creative people.
The plan right now is to add a clan invite feature to allow those in groups to send requests in-game to other players. That alone, however, won't solve all of our problems in making this feature more immersive.
If you have some good and creative ideas on how to make this feature more immersive for newcomers and clan members alike, or would like to personally involve your clan for the recruitment benefits provided by the game, feel free to leave a comment on the thread or message me in private.

P.S. - I know swords are not very popular but the game first needs to be completed with swords in place before universe gun-expansions are added. Once everything is in place, the implementation of diverse weapons into a separately linked version of the game will require about 3 days. |

| pretty useless to recruit there i brought 4 there, better off at grp unless you implement something better for sword clans to stick out |

More than 70 clans have registered into this game. There's a current full server composed of almost entirely two groups that are competing with one another right now. People care.
@Av
We're adding an 'invite to clan' feature that should help recruitment. We could use more ideas in making the clan competitive feature more immersive - if the newcomers start wanting to be part of the groups in-game they'd have to join the real groups on the website. That's the effect we're striving towards to help groups out. |

I think clan battles would be interesting. This was something that I think HEX lacked, a system where people can make their own teams (Clans) and have a variety of gametypes in a round system.
The ideal system for this would be having a different weapon (Ultimately gun) for each individual team member, meaning their gameplay/role for the team all varies and they must work more cohesively. |

The content the game provides is far from generic. The weapon system is. X_O has told me that he would be willing to work on an innovative custom fighting system for the game, but the issue with that is that clans use generic weaponry and if we want to introduce new people to clans we're going to have to show them what weapon systems we use (standardized guns and swords). |

| I agree Ned. The challenge is how do we accomplish that? We've got tags on people's name, we're adding tags to a custom player leaderboard, we've got a clan leaderboard surface UI and UI and we've got an invite system. |

I don't know much about scripting or building or anything regarding development really, but could you use the main game as a hub where there is a clan feature that places them into a separate server for a set amount of players from each clan?
It could do a variety of gamemodes and the implementation of more weapons can only for one different gun (or weapon) to be distributed to each person.
A leaderboard for these clan matches (Top clan or most wins) can be shown in the main game or on a GUI similar to the current top clans.
That way its not the clan members going into the game with random people and fighting but actual clan battles. |

Having it focus in on clan battles alone would require a completely different framework for the game and it won't be inclusive of newcomers. We can script a clan based Team Deathmatch where all clans are divided within the server and compete, or something else that's better if you have any game mode ideas that involve groups.
If we will make a gun expansion, which is very likely, we will include a variety of weapons from different. The most time consuming things about taking this path is having to re-script many clan guns to make them FE compatible.
Yeah, we have a leaderboard right now in the menu and we're adding a surface-gui in the lobby as well. |

| Perhaps clan customization. I don't know much about the game at the moment, but I saw shops to customize swords and such. Perhaps weapons can have a customization for clans so they can more easily rep them. |

| heres a good idea, have a fair sized gui on the screen saying "Join Clan!" and when you click it, it's a scroll menu featuring all the clans that have registered on your game, ranked by size or something like that. Once that clan is joined, an option to equip their respective uniform in their game and a title over the players head saying "F.E.A.R playername". I feel like that would be decent incentive, plus rewarding clan activity with further titles and sprites or something |

@Baron A directory for joining clans would be really cool to do. You can come check out the menu right now in the server I'm in to see how registering/joining currently works. Lots of clan people here right now. |

This is a good start for realistic clan revitalization, just add guns and voilà...
That's what it will take to get the C&G crowd at large interested, as they have a greater appeal to the majority than swords. |
