I'm 99% convinced that the only reason China even bothered to buy a KHL team is so that they can naturalize players for the 2022 Winter Olympics and make a half-assed attempt to promote the sport in the country and maybe get like three roided up Chinese youngsters.
South Korea has already been doing this for a few years with Asia League teams so that they won't lose more than 12-0 or 12-1 (8-0 or 8-1 if NHLers don't get to play) at the 2018 games. |
