Clan Performance Ranking System V.1
[Introduction] As opposed to most user generated lists, this list provides specific assessment criteria as well as an explanation for why the criteria is used. The ranking system introduces 3 conditions which are representative of performance and growth, 4 criteria to determine the degree of fulfillment of each condition, 1 independent critical criteria and 2 bonus factors. Overall clan performance is scored out of 10 and is based on a weighted performance average of the 5 critical criteria plus the 2 bonus factors.
*Ratings are based on the historic all-time performance of all considerable clans. Clans that may be doing well against their contemporary competitors, but poorly in relation to powerful groups from the past, will not receive high ratings. _______ [The Three Conditions] There are three conditions that determine successful clan performance and growth: the ability of the clan to bring new members in, the ability of the clan to sustain the activity of its members, and the ability of the clan to properly filter through its members.
1. A clan that fails to bring new members into its community becomes inactive. 2. A clan that fails to maintain consistent member activity becomes unsustainable. 3. A clan that fails to properly filter through its active member base will inevitably lose out on quality as its military will be disorganized and its high ranking members unfit for their positions.
To determine whether a clan has failed or passed each condition we will use an overall combination of 4 critical criteria. In addition to these 4, there is also one independent criteria that is important to keep track of. _______ [The Five Critical Criteria] For the first condition (bringing new members in) - Recruitment
Note* Recruitment encompasses all factors which lead people to join a group in the first place. It encompasses the ability of a group to utilize recruitment sources such as the front page and the forums (marketing), and also accounts for the group’s reputation and overall outlook among outsiders (branding).
For the second condition (sustaining activity) - Place traffic and Frequency of events - Development and gameplay
Note* Why development? Development is a factor that measures the potential sustained activity a group can posses. Clan related places that are better developed attract the involvement of more players which in turn translates into more sustained activity. Being a measure of potential, it matters less than the actual statistical activity performance of a clan.
For the third condition - Internal Clan Structure (organization, promotional system and autonomy)
Independent critical criteria: War Performance and Conduct
Note* Why should war conduct be accounted for? There is a large difference between groups who are win wars due to the strength of their members and groups who win wars by cheating and dirty play. Clans that consistently demonstrate poor ethical conduct in wars have ruined the joy in clan competition and lowered the user experience war clans offer to regular players.

Two Factors: - Growth - Resources
If a clan noticeably displays growth, its overall performance should be subjected to increase over-time. As such, to ensure maximum scoring accuracy, the list takes into account clan growth (in reference to the three factors outlined at the beginning) and awards up to an extra point to the overall score.
A which is growing is one that excels at all 3 conditions. This means: For condition one - there are more active members being brought into the group than there are becoming inactive / leaving throughout the past month. Place traffic demonstrates at least a 10% increase in comparison to where it has been in the previous month. Improvement in the promotional system, proactive crackdown on corruption and HR favorability-ruling and replacement of incompetent leaders with competent ones.
Controlling vast resources also provides an extra point to the overall score. Vast resources quantify as over R$300,000, a consistent monthly income of $R30,000 or control over major front page games. _______ [Final Algorithm]
Weighted average of significance for each: Recruitment (30%) Place Traffic and Frequency of Events (25%) Development and the User Experience (15%) Internal Clan Structure (20%) War Performance and Conduct (10%)

I'll set up factor parameters and provide a simple clan evaluation example in a minute.
Name any clan you'd like for me to use for the ranking example. I'll try to plug in all of these assessment variables and come up with a score. |

most clans are performing quite poorly
fc does poorly for condition one fc does okay at condition two fc does well at condition three --- fc:
very bad recruitment bad place traffic and event frequency ok dev and user exp pretty good internal structure very good war performance and good conduct
no growth bonus no resources bonus
final rating - okay

"ok dev and user exp" ATC is easily one of the best dev teams atm. "poor internal structure" can agree with that but it has started imrpoving quite a bit "poor war performance and (ok) conduct" yeah this is pretty much right

are you just eyeballing stuff like place visits to judge some of the criteria or are you plugging it in with some complex fashion
it looks complicated but it's probably the best way to judge clans that i've seen so far |
