What team are you supporting in the Caribbean Premier League, if it all?
I've always held a soft spot for the Barbados Tridents because of Kieron Pollard |

According to an interview with the CPL owner, Damien O'Donohue, theyre looking at places like New York or Toronto to expand it into a "North American" Premier League. Canadian and American players are playing in the CPL.

A New York or a Toronto team wouldn't be that bad, but I'm worried about the audiences, because there's no point putting a team in NY if no one bothers to watch the games. But it would be great to watch someone like a Nikhil Dutta or Nitish Kumar (future Abraash Khan?) play for a Toronto franchise, I feel it'd be great for Canadian cricket.

youd be surprised at the audiences that NYCFC, Cosmos, and not that the Red Bulls are located in NYC but soccer has been picked up and brought in here in NY. Obviously not as much as baseball, football, hockey etc. but it is gaining interest

Sounds interesting, but I probably should've specified. The Carribbean Premier League is a cricket league.

Nah, it's fine? You wouldn't happen to know about cricket demographics in NY?

I mean I can give you an estimate, I live pretty much in New York City but i've seen on many occasion people playing cricket, not positive as to the actual number, I can tell you a lot of the people that were once cricket enthusiasts switched to baseball

though i dont think they should expand into the us, i think that if they get the chance they should look into putting a team in charotte.
seriously. i'm not making a joke. there are massive amounts of indian, paskistani, and bangladeshi immigrants in the area and there would be good attendance.

The thing is, I think they want born American and Canadian fans over immigrant fans.

That's a start, I suppose. I mean a lot of the people in Canadian cricket at the moment have descended from either the subcontinent, Australia, South Africa and England.

You're going to need some illegal streams or an international TV package to watch games

I mean Willow TV's the best broadcaster in the USA.
I'd say start with the CPL, it's a good way to integrate new viewers, + the timezone helps. I think CPL game start at 8 PM EST? |
