^But it is... Sure, the words may be older.. But the teachings are basic, for they are about faith.
The whole goal of the bible is to guide you spiritually towards God.. While other books help your journey, it is the one holy source.
All others are simply that: guides. |

faith is not a simple thing god is not a simple thing
the bible is so much more than just a simple pamphlet telling you what to do to get right with god

God is actually a sentient cloud of subatomic particles we have yet to detect, he, or it, knows we're alive and doesn't care about us.
He's currently sending his angels, monsters of varying size and light composition, and their powers are beyond our understanding.
Lucifer on the other hand, he's now one of us. Hiding in the crowds of people, acting as a normal human being. |

@corporate It is said in the bible that all you have to do is have faith in God. God loves you, you love him back. We may be sinful people, but we are all granted salvation.
We as humans are the ones who try to over complicate things. We think there is something you have to do to "get there" with God, but the answer is: you're already there. By confirming yourself with God, you have made it to salvation. Don't mistake to mean you won't make another sin, because you will. But as long as you ask for forgiveness, God will forgive you. Unfortunately, that is not always the same for the people on the Earth.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." -Matthew 7:7

Aren't you at all interested in the character of God beyond just his role as a savior, even in the slightest?
He isn't this simple, lovey dovey character you seem to think he is. The Old Testament goes into great detail about his marching the Israelites into many battles and his advocation for the pillage and r@pe of Israel's enemies, why?. God creates imperfect humans and holds them to a perfect standard, why? He's a complex figure.
The point I was trying to make is that the Bible isn't a simple book. There may be simple aspects of it, but on the whole the Bible is complex and at times seemingly contradictory.

| Faith without works is tasteless to God. It's like being all talk but no action. |

@corp Love thy enemy as you love thy neighbor and thy self.
God warned them of what was to come. He asked them to let his people go.. And they didn't.
But yet, after his people had made it to safety, hd let them live. Why? Why, even after the sins of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, did God let us have beauties in the world, even after we became aware of good and evil? Even after we became the man of sin? Because God loves us. That's why.
He sent his only son down for us to die for our sins. Personally, I don't think I could do that. But God did, because that's how much he loves us.
That is what the bible means for us to understand. While it may be contradictory, and maybe confusing, all God wants is your love. The bible helps us to learn to love as God loves us. |

| I like this. I read the Quran and I can clearly see that the Bible and the Quran have similar morals and themes. |

^ They are similar religions. Same God. The only difference is some of their viewpoints on things, which I don't agree with, but can respect. I've never read the Quran, but I've heard that somewhere in there it says that you can insult anyone that is not of your religion because they are inferior?... At least, in the new Quran. |

| A lot of these quotes are taken out of context or even made up. What a shame that people will do that just to justify their hatred towards Islam. The Quran does not say it's okay to insult kafirs. It says to love all people, believer or kafir. Insulting others is not okay in Islam. |

^ Oh. So it's just those crazy extremists?
Silly extremists... Killing people won't get you any closer to God (or Allah as he is called in the Islamic religion.)
By the way, what does it define a Kafir as? In Christianity, a non believer is simply someone without Christ. Which means that it acknowledges both the Islamic and the Jewish religion as believers in Christ.
The only difference between the three, at least in a basic level, is that Christianity acknowledges Jesus as the Messiah and the son of God, as well as being of God himself. (The holy trinity; Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit). While with Islam and Judaism, it is believed that he is a teacher.
And ^^
Please don't jinx it. *knocks on wood* |

| I would say so, yes. Even with Christianity, there are Christians that will twist the teachings of the Bible and use them for hatred. Kafir is just Arabic for non-believer. It's anyone who does not believe in God (Allah) and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. |
