How much thrust is required to lift the average shuttle, including the weight of all of its fuel and thrusters?

"not my part of the job, I work with fuselage and fins"
As a rocket engineer, you should still know the required weight-thrust ratio. Weight balance is very important in the design of a rocket of any kind; even if you're not directly involved with the upward propulsion, you should still know how much weight you have to work with.

Are you an actual rocket engineer, or do you like to think you are one.
Vote El Presidente, or else. |

Which university did you go to, and where do you work? I considered getting into rocket engineering too.

Does fin design matter on rockets? For reference take something like a two liter bottle rocket.

What's typically the best angle for a vertical stabilizer, and how many elevons do you usually need? Again, we're going off of averages here.
