Almost five and a half years after the league started (would be on Tuesday), I'm deciding that I wish to end the league.
Ultimately, there was no other option than this, and I'm sorry that I had to do it mid-season, but honestly I just don't feel like running the RHL anymore.
I haven't had the time to do anything with it in the past week or so and that's only the beginning, as I'm making a trip to Chicago next week to see my brother graduate from the Navy as well as head home and probably look for a job at some point before the end of the summer.
Sure, the cheating that has been going on lately has made the league seem bad, and that's partially why I'm ending it, before it gets worse. I want people to remember the good times that the RHL had, and continuing the league where it stands now is just asking for it to be sent into the ground, because there is no chance that it will be as good as it was in its prime seasons of nine through twelve.
Other than that, there were some other obvious reasons why I don't feel that the league should continue, mainly because of my time off the site. As I mentioned earlier, I should probably be looking for a job as well as finding a college that fits me sometime soon, only adding on to the list of responsibilities that will just make me have less of a chance to be on to monitor games.
Many of you might consider the cheaters to have won the long battle that has apparently been going on for the last handful of seasons and multiple years, but really they haven't. All in all, the only enjoyment and benefit that they get from all of this is that they helped ruin a bit of fun in an online league on a site made for pre-teens. The rest of us will move on from this and will aim for bigger and better things beyond a kids site called Roblox, and live a successful life where it matters: in the real world.
I just have too many things going on outside of the RHL itself to be dealing with the arguments and accusations that have been happening. Maybe if the league were not designed to be as organized, I could probably continue it. But with it having such a set schedule, I don't see it to be a possibility without making a ton of unnecessary changes.
Again, I want to thank everyone for taking part in the league, from the very beginning to where it ends right here. All of you have made at least one positive contribution in it, and that is devoting part of your day to something that I enjoy a lot, sports - let alone something I made to represent the love that I have for sports.
I want to give a few specific thanks to those who I cannot thank enough for their dedication to the league.
Death - The league's co-commissioner for the past couple of years and has helped in running a project known as the RHL-DL. It turned out to be the only successful minor league the RHL would ever see. He joined back in the early seasons, Season 4 I believe, and helped bring the entire SF community to the league that saw a rapid growth after he joined, especially during the Season 7 finals.
Mario - Staff member for the last few seasons and was always there when I was in a pinch and needed a ref. On another note, he's also a really cool dude to chill with when you just want to get away from the league for a little while.
Vikings - Similar to Mario, Vikings was there when I needed him to ref, especially the last few months. He knew what to do and where to go, which a lot of people were unable to figure out. His creative thinking also brought about some positive changes to the league as well that I can't forget.
Zat - The dude is a trip, and has been around for a long time. He finished as staff and will be remembered for the entertainment that he brought to the RHL and allowed me to enjoy the final months even when things were not looking good.
Rose - While I'm not sure if he will see it, Rose is one of only a very small handful of people that have been there since the first day. In fact, I'm pretty sure he played in the first ever game, if not the first few.
Nomer - Many are not aware that Nomer has been in the RHL since the first month or two. Although he was involved in what was probably the first ever conflict the league witnessed, I can't forget his time and patience that he put towards to keep the league going strong.
Tg - He wasn't a man of many words, but he was always there to make jerseys and other stuff when I needed it and I want to thank him for putting effort in making the game more visually appealing.
And on and on and on...there are a lot of people that stuck it out like Case and Ang and Sports and whatnot. Case, I know we haven't been on the same page as of late, but I still respect you as a person and wish you the best in life.
Some historical thanks to those that will most likely not read this, but will not go unnoticed: - Hobo - 623 - MatthewOwens - Fb - And a few others that know who they are
If I missed you, don't take it personally, I'm just really exhausted and don't wish to make this any longer than it already is.
With that, I will duck out of the flames and see you all elsewhere. I don't know if Vikings and I are going to continue the sim league we planned on doing, but if not I may run something else.

And Toy because why the hell did I forget him.
I have extreme respect for those who didn't intend to cause any harm to this league Eric, and you're one of them. You've been in the league for a really long time and I just want to appreciate your contributions. |

Love how gh0st takes this as a victory. Killing a league is not killing a person. I don't see any of us getting up and leaving, theres still a lot to come for all of us.
Thanks for so many great times Bens. I'm sure you'll find another niche somewhere in the SF before you know it.
Soon enough we could have Bens scoring 45 Goals per season on an HHCL team?!?!?! Whattttttttt |
