Extended application of what you know, and experimentation with what you don't.
Same as any exercise, when a session is over you should come away a bit battered and bruised but ultimately better for it.

| And also go on the ROBLOX wiki then open the scripting book while being able to view other tutorials. |

Learn the basics from a YouTube video or two and go onto the wiki, should be easier to understand and you'll just learn more and more (unless you procrastinate like myself)

| Previous replies gave good suggestions for how to start reading up on the concepts, but one thing I want to stress is that programming or scripting of any kind is best learned through practice. Reading about it is important to become aware of the concepts and to deepen your understanding of the theory, but the best way to truly understand what it means and how it's used in practice is to implement it in your own scripts. Even things that seem simple or routine are worth practicing until you can comfortably use it and understand it completely on your own without having to look at any reference materials. I recommend learning scripting slowly and steadily and carefully, starting with the most basic concepts and working your way onward. For each concept you read about, you should practice it in your own scripts until you fully understand how it works and how to implement it yourself without help from external sources before moving on to the next concept. |
