Right now I'm trying to convert my group's guns from CSG to mesh. I'm able to upload meshes fine, but I'm not sure if the actual meshes are going to reduce lag.
We all know that if you move your camera into a mesh, certain parts are invisible and certain parts are visible. Well, when I move my camera into my gun's mesh, it's as if I'm moving the camera into a gun with no unionings or meshes at all. It looks completely normal, no change. (I hope this makes sense, if it doesn't please ask me to go into further detail)
My question is if converting to meshes will actually help reduce lag, because the parts appear the have the same number of voxels. Is there a way to form all parts into one in Blender, or do I not need to bother doing that?
I have to make 18 meshes for my group, so I'd rather know now than 18 meshes later.
Thanks. |
