First off, What is the point of the idle time?
But lets get into the real discussion. Personally, I think ROBLOX should remove the idle timer. Because one, it serves no reason like say someone is going to get food, and they are playing a game like Miners Haven ,where it requires time and patience to get money, and you are gone 20 minutes (that is the time before roblox automatically kicks you off of the game.) You come back and you are kicked off, like if roblox wants more users to play (personally) roblox should either remove the Idle timer, or have a setting so that gamer creators can increase the timer and/or remove it.

I kinda like the latter idea. Give the option to the creators.

support. I remember leaving roblox on for the whole night thinking I would still be on the server after I wake up so I can play quicker, well, you know what happened next.

| Well, there's really no clear benefit of a global idle timer, as op mentioned. Some games need it while others do not. If developers had this option, I think the idle timer would see good use out of it. |

| support, but only creators can set idle timing. limit above 20 minutes, if he sets into 1 minute you are screwed. |

I think they should remove it too. I was literally gone for 5 minutes and it kicked me off the game. ( Support ) <3 |

@Smoothie, Roblox could make it so you could only higher it, not lower it. And if they do put it so you can lower it. No lower then like 10 minutes.

@johny 60 minutes is still kind of low. I think 90 would be good.

I do believe they should increase the Idle Timer. But I do not think they should remove. They have it so you don't clog the servers up while you're afk.

thoughts of a tycoon owner: "hmm? roblox is allowing me to remove/reduce the idle timer? perfect. now my low quality game will have a much higher chance of making the front page and staying popular! muhahahahaha!"
and then roblox was completely taken over by tycoons... rip... |

@TheShadow How will increasing and reducing idle time keep games on the front page?

tycoons rely on players going afk to "cheat the system" go to any tycoon and this will be painfully obvious
a longer time before being kicked means more people will be in the tycoon at any given time (there is a flow of people going in and out. slowing down the flow of people leaving means more people at any given time)
having no idle kick system at all would be a nightmare. not only is it a waste of resources (those servers could be serving other people who are actually playing) , it also promotes abuse of the system in the form of tycoons |

@shadow, Not really. Tycoons use droppers as a source of money. It starts off cheap but then gets more expensive. And the more expensive the more money it produces. And, kids today usually have short attention span, so if something takes to long they will leave the game.

yes, that is why tycoons do so well. they are super fast and kids can go from one to another. but having developers able to change the idle times can be super efficient. Yea, it might cause a couple games to be on the front page longer. But, so what it is one game!
