Now, I know the way this forum rolls. There's little chance any of this is going to make it to a developer's ears (or eyes), but I have some hope.
Roblox has been getting better and better as of late. It's still a flawed game, but it's getting close to the point where I would recommend it to friends again. One thing, however, still holds in back:
The graphics settings slider.
That thing is, to put it lightly, terrible. Roblox has a great number of different shaders as well as other miscellaneous graphical settings, such as the render distance. These are all nice additions, and I do appreciate a bit of graphical flair.
However, I do not appreciate being forced to choose a graphics "level". There are cases in which I would appreciate a higher render distance, but cannot switch to it because some obscure shader I don't need would slow down the game too much. Sometimes, I want to turn on a particular shader, while leaving out the others. My point is, the slider is extremely rigid, and I don't think it's a good solution.
To keep it short: I do understand where the idea of a graphics slider might come from. A large part of Roblox's userbase is made up children, who wouldn't know, or wouldn't care for what "ambient occlusion" and "depth of field" mean. In their case, a simple slider entailing "left to make the game run better but look worse, right to make the game run worse but look better" is ideal.
A good section of the userbase, myself included, would however greatly appreciate a bit more control. I won't say what this should be like - one idea would be an "Advanced Settings" button in the menu. Whatever the case, I believe that a better way to control each graphics setting would be ideal, and a lack of it is, frankly, fairly odd, given that it's standard in almost every other game.
Again, I doubt any developer is going to read this. However, on the off-chance that this request does get to one, I ask that you please take it into consideration.
Thank you. |

Yeah, I support.
The only graphical settings that we really get manual control over at the moment are the graphical level (which has been around for a long time even before the slider was introduced in-game can actually consists of 21 levels [which increments in 's in-game]), graphics API (DX9, DX11, OGL), Antialiasing, FramerateManager (which automatically controls draw distance to keep a smooth framerate, turn it off for an increased draw distance), and EagerBulkExecution (something to do with fading out textures when they are far away, idk).
You was also able to control the quality of the material textures, but that was removed when they introduced that graphics slider. |

"Graphics slider does all" which is the problem with it
my computer isnt very good so i play on the lowest quality setting and because of that im stuck with a low render distance which gives me a disadvantage in some games i would like if i could have everything but render distance set to low

100% support for advanced settings even if I don't need it today.
My old PC was a piece of garbage and I had to choose between long render distance but really laggy because of high graphical settings or low render distance and I get screwed over in half of the games. |

1000000% Support because in order to have good render distance you have to be laggy its so anoying especially for phantom forces. Becuase its so laggy if i turn up the slider all the way.

"Set to automatic
Does all"
again thats still a problem
for example with my computer if i set it the grahpics settings to automatic its not going to just increase the render distance and keep everything else low its going to increase everything not just render distance if i had the option for advanced settings then i could just increase the render distance only
another example is if you want to increase detail but lower render distance to compensate with robloxs graphics slider (this also applies for setting it to automatic) you have no choice but to increase everything including render distance

Support. I would use this to achieve capabilities over graphic level 10.

Add bumpmapping, and a bunch of other shaders, and add DOF, AO, Bloom, Tesselation, ect. and add checkboxes for those. ALso add a checkbox for *High resolution textures (Textures with high res versions for gears and stuff.) An example of a high resolution texture would be this HD stud texture! https://www.roblox.com/HD-2016-stud-mirroed-oops-item?id=413082749 (oh and you said linking to roblox is okay m8) Or this HD sword. https://www.roblox.com/HD-2K-Linked-Sword-Texture-item?id=323591033 Or even this Spawn location texture. This would make the game somewhat more realistic, posting here becase we need more than just better Settings menu. https://www.roblox.com/Spawn-Location-HD-item?id=357616529 |

| Some of those are nice suggestions (and some of them are already in the game, like bloom). That's not really what this post is about - I really, /really/ suggest that roblox fix what needs to be fixed (the graphics settings) before adding more things (more shaders). |

ever since these new shaders came out (im assuming it was antialiasing or anisotropic filtering at fault) my computer isnt able to run roblox on graphics 10 despite it being a pretty decent gaming pc (can do everything my desktop cant except for roblox lol)
i mean i could just disable it forcefully with nvidia control panel but not everyone has a nvidia so
i guess support

It's either far render distance and 5FPS tops, or 30FPS minimum but the render distance is so SMALL I have a disadvantage in every game I play. Having one bar to control one thing consistently, but everything else being all wacko, is a bad idea.

| Support! My computer used to run most games smoothly at graphics quality 10 but after the post FX update it affected my performance so much thanks to anti aliasing. |
