So I just finished watching the Goosebumps movie a few minutes ago. I am going to give an honest review of it now. You can tell this review is honest because I am using correct capitalization and punctuation.
So.
This movie was terrible. It was extremely cliche and trite. Some of the cliches I noticed: Main character has wacky comedic sidekick. Wacky comedic sidekick has love interest that he gets with near the end of the movie. Main character's love interest has some terrible thing about her that isn't revealed until later in the movie. Main character's love interest seems to die in heartbreaking moment, with main character and love interest sharing kiss. Love interest is saved through the power of the McGuffin of the story, a typewriter. I could go on and on, but these are just some of the ones that are the most obvious.
I thought the inclusion of the classic Goosebumps monsters was very poorly executed. The story is just an extremely generic tale of main characters trying to stop an evil bad guy BUT WITH GOOSEBUMPS CHARACTERS! I think the low light was when the zombies were introduced. I know that there was a book about zombies in the Goosebumps series (Welcome to Dead House), but they shouldn't have included them. When the movie introduced the zombies, it literally just turned into a clone of Night of the Living Dead.
I thought that the only good actor in this movie was Jack Black. Then again, I am a pretty big Jack Black fan. Every other performance seemed very poor to me personally. I know that most of the actors in this movie are kids, but come on! It made the movie very tiring to sit through. I thought there were some good moments though. For example, I thought ending sequence, where it's revealed that one of the bad guys actually didn't get sucked into the book all of the other monsters were sucked into and starts typing on the typewriter in the school, was kind of cute. But it doesn't really make sense. How did IT manage to survive? Why didn't any of the other monsters???
Overall, though, I definitely thought this movie wasn't good. This will definitely appeal to children with absolutely no taste in cinema whatsoever and Goosebumps fans who just want to see the classic monsters in all of their glory, though. That is the one thing this movie has going for it. Goosebumps fans will probably be very pleased to see their favorite monsters, such as Slappy the Dummy, the werewolf, the Abominable Snowman, and others. Children will enjoy it because it's got bright visuals. However, for cinema Patricians such as myself and adults, this film will have zero appeal whatsoever. In my personal opinion, this film is a 2/10. Sad!

REC 1 and 2 are good horror movies
You should move to a small town, somewhere the rule of law still exists. You will not survive here. You are not a wolf, and this is a land of wolves now. |

The new one, the garbage one.

| The movie does have very good cinematography. The colors are very bright and the camera angles are well done. However, basically everything else is horrible. |

well you do realize they were trying to appeal to the goosebumps audience that's why i thought it was good because the sort of feel you got from the movie you're mistaking it for "bad", when it was the feel that the original goosebumps series gave |

| Honestly, I like the original Goosebumps books. I am a Goosebumps fan. The books were very well written. However, this movie was definitely not well written. Just my honest opinion though! :) |
