This quote pretty much sums it up:
"Why should Steve Jobs spend hours studying someone else’s ideas and breakthroughs when he could be out creating his own?" |

The fact that I'm not graduating with any cords is a disgusting testimony to how much of a joke US schools are.
My SATs are 1800+, my IQ is higher that 99% of the world's, and I've made more money that pretty much any other student in my grade with a job I earned myself.
I took multiple APs and passed about 5 of 6 (I failed AP Euro mostly because that class was pointless and idgaf about it)
But guess what, I got D's in those classes, THOSE CLASSES THAT ARE INTENDED TO GET YOU TO PASS THE AP EXAMS, yet I got better AP scores than the kid's that kissed ass throughout all of class and got A's. Grades reflect how much of a kissass you are. They reflect your ability to turn in useless homework assignments on time -- not knowledge of the material. That's why you'll find all of my classes with 98, 99, 100, etc final exam scores, yet C's and D's in the class overall.
What happened to the time when people were rewarded FOR KNOWLEDGE, not EFFORT.
Working is useless if you're bad at it. All these kid's that try hard that lack natural intelligence will face a sad reality when the realize that people don't care hard you try, they care how much money you make them. |

I never needed to care about grades. I never intended to go to college right out of highschool.
Instead I'll earn about 150k+ during my 4 or more years in the military, then get free education.
Why do "intelligent" people decide to rack up 50k in debt and gain the same skills as everybody else in a wildly oversaturated market.
Military experience is a rare thing that employers love to see combined with a degree -- it's something that separates you from just another degree-holder.
I regret nothing. I'm easily the most motivated person in my entire Marine Recruiting pool and I work hard when I find it necessary or beneficial -- 4 years of sleep loss and no free time would not be worth 50k of debt and another 4 years of misery at college. |

op didn't do any of his homework and is now salty...
being smart is all well and good but if you sit on your ass and expect a good grade then well it's not going to happen
the real world doesn't give a heck if you're smart, you just need to work

| I don't expect a good grade. But seriously you're going to recognize people for their GPA when my performance is much higher? Nobody cares how hard you train, they care how you compete. |

" "Why should Steve Jobs spend hours studying someone else’s ideas and breakthroughs when he could be out creating his own?""
Because Steve Jobs should first have the mental capacity to create his own ideas, or else he will be labeled a joke by society. |

why would someone hire a slacker? you haven't proven yourself to be competitive, you're just a good test-taker

| Limited surely you can understand the analogy to sports? Does anybody care how hard an NFL player trains? No, hell no. They care how they compete and perform. GPA is a reflection on your training, final exams and AP exams are what you're training for -- the competition. I slaughter most everybody in the competition. |

| You do your work you get a good grade. You sit on your ass and play Roblox all night you don't get a good grade, it is simple really. |

extra I don't slack, I just have no reason to work hard.
Busting my ass for 4 years doesn't help the teachers, and it doesn't help me. It helps nobody. Therefore it's pointless work. You could even ask my USMC Recruiters, I'm easily one of the most motivated and hard working, if not THE most motivated and hard working recruits that they have. I push myself to vomit nearly every time I test on my IST. If that's not working hard I don't know what it is. I go until my body physically fails. That's definitely not slacking. |

| extra I understand your point, but if they train hard and they're still an awful player does anybody care? No. If somebody doesn't even train and still does better than anybody else when it comes to game time, that's who they want on their team. |

The US Education system has always been a joke. You just don't know how to take advantage of it. I've aced all my classes and have a near perfect ACT score, and I'm doing just fine. I've got an offer for a scholarship from my flagship college of my state.

| Reminds me of this sprinter that went to my highschool during my freshman year. He was the 9th fastest in the 50m in the COUNTRY. He ate mcdonalds all the time and didn't train hard at all. He was still better than the others though, and he should be recognized for it. |
