The Vigiles of Rome Temporary Handbook
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ This document comprehensively covers all the knowledge recruits require and all the content in this manual must be learnt by all recruits of the Vigiles, and will be required to advance through the ranks. All ranks should refer to this manual when unable to recall drills from memory.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
If you are caught breaking these laws the punishment varies.

BASIC AND ADVANCED LAWS [Concerning Vigile Duties]
Lex Curatores Strictione - Defines what Legionnaires and their Officers are unable to do, as well as what they are permitted to do as well. They may not: Command Legionnaires either under the command of another Legion or if the individual attempting to issue an order is not deemed an Officer; Act as ‘Judge, Jury, and Executioner’ by executing Roman Citizens in violation UNLESS approved by an officer of the Praetorian Guard, Cohortes Urbanae or any Magistrate; Speak to anyone but their fellow Legionnaires without direct permission from the individual’s Commanding Officer in exception to Roman Officers above the ranking of Centurion whom have the ability to speak at will; Or Invent ‘Unwritten Laws’ or claim a passed law does not exist to give his or herself an advantage over other Romans.
Lex Hostis - Requires that any and all Outsiders are deemed Enemies to Rome and shall be treated with extreme hostility. If a Legionnaire on patrol discovers an outsider, they are to follow the process below: 1) Order the Outsider to Halt, (“HALT”) 2) While following Legion Protocol, ask the Outsider to join Rome, (“ALL OUTSIDERS ARE ENEMIES OF THE STATE, YOU MUST JOIN ROME OR FACE DEATH”) 3) If the Outsider accepts, guide them through the process of joining Rome, and treat them as a Foreigner rather to an Outsider, 4) If the Outsider declines, execute them. (“THEN I IN ACCORDANCE WITH ROMAN LAW SENTENCE YOU TO DEATH”)
Lex Order Civilum - This Law will ban Foreigners from wearing a Toga or legion uniform as this shows Roman superiority. It will also ban Plebeians from wearing rich togas such as the Gold trimmed toga. All benefits are also inherited from the Social Class below them.
Lex Cutis Umbra - Requires that all Romans be in an appropriate Skin Tone that reflects that of one in the real world. Hot pink, blue, purple, etc are NOT allowed and result in death if not changed.
Lex Senatus Pannus - Senators (or higher) that wish to command members of their respective Legion must be on-duty and in their proper Legionnaire attire. Furthermore, Senators (or higher) that wish to go into combat must do so as well, as it makes no sense for Senators (or higher) to be wearing Togas into combat.
Lex Mercator - After a proper monetary system has been formed, Roman civilians may trade as long as it is not anything a standard citizen can not wear as it is forbidden by current law.
Lex Ornatus - Wear the appropriate genre clothing, and do not wear uniforms or gear for ranks above your own.
Lex Occide - Do not kill fellow romans; however, a Senator or Personell manager may order the death of patrician or below.
Lex Basic - Romans may not murder Romans, Romans may not steal, Romans may not harrass nobility, Romans may not go without clothes, Romans may not trespass, Romans may not attack their military, Slaves may not bear arms.

ORDERS AND FORMATIONS
Regulam (Wedge) - Formation where one man has an arrow-shaped formation going from him backwards. Used for normal stance and protecting civilians.
Armis (Protective) - One man in front, two men to the targets right and left, and one behind. This guard position is used for protecting civilians.
Arm - Equip shields and swords.
Divorsus - A reverse regulam, forming the wedge to the front of the target, not forming it behind.
SFL - Single file line behind target.
STS (on and by) - Shoulder to shoulder straight line on a target, means in front of the target. STS by a target is shoulder to shoulder next to the target, not in front of.

VIGILE TERMS
When a Vigile drops terms, he will also drop a rank.
Using capitalization on all letters at all times, using no punctuation, and referring to all individuals by rank. Vigiles may not speak unless addressing a crime, other Vigiles, or asking an important question / giving orders to lower ranks. When addressing a lower rank, terms are not required.
