I have New Years Day's autograph. I got it at last years Warped Tour. They have one good song, but they're trying, so I give 'em credit for that.
As for me... I can't list my "favorites" per-se. Here are some bands I've been lisstening to frequently:
The Misfits Rob Zombie Alice Cooper The Descendents A Day To Remember Slayer Iron Maiden Judas Priest Dio |

| You mean "Malevolence?" Eh, it was alright. "Kill or Be Killed" is their best song on both the album and as a band. The album was certainly 100% better than anything they've released in the past, but they're lyrics and vocals sound like they're trying too hard to sound like an actual mainstream act. "Kill or Be Killed" didn't really come off as bad because it was a lot more refined and you could tell the whole band was into it. Everything else sounded like something was off or something was missing. |

| I mean, it wasn't that bad of an alum. Sure, it had it's ups, but I think they could use a little more work in the vocal department to seal it. |

She's not a bad vocalist. She just needs some work. Personally, she can sing a lot better than all of the newer female vocalists (i.e. Lzzy Hale, Maria Brink), but Ash could use some help in terms of vocal patterns and not sounding like she's trying too hard. Although Malevolence was critically acclaimed, the main draw of criticism towards it was the fact most of her songs sounded like they were try-hards. We know they're not, but it's the simple fact they focused solely on certain themes and certain vocal patterns that they came off as tryhards. Like I said, I like the band, but in all honesty, they're so close to figuring it out that by their next album, they'll be fine. |
