The Gtx 960 is there just to hold the price for the rx 480 which is what I'm hoping to put in. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/CDzbtJ

| Get a 6600k instead, it's slightly faster than the 4690k for roughly the same price, and allows you to use new features like DDR4 RAM |

| DDR4 RAM has no affect on gaming. The higher speeds are offset by a higher latency. Also get a pair of headphones, not a crap-tier headset. |

If you plan on using Windows 10. Go for a 6th gen core. The i5 6500 is really good. I use it. ^_^

Lel, my grammar killed itself on that last post. I'm too lazy to provide evidence that I did in fact select parts on my own. (not like my mom knows how to build a PC) But seriously, Windows 10 and Skylake cores seem to be the most stable thing I've ever come across. Well, it's more stable than my other PC using an AMD Athlon 6400+.

Anyway, here's a Twitter post with all the parts I used if you want to compare them. (not including reused stuff [Optical Drive, Extra Hard Drives, etc.]) https://twitter.com/xXBladefuryXx/status/740499207614791680

all in all that's a very good setup i would add a ssd boot drive as they boot worlds faster than HDDs, but if you dont need one then that's OK

| I have that monitor, the ghosting is pretty noticeable and you'll get weird frame stutters in games that fail to match the monitor's frequency of 144 (so you'll have to scale it down manually for games like GTA V and Skyrim) |

| Maybe cap it to 72 Hz? That will reduce tearing but will slightly increase input lag which probably won't matter much unless you're a competitive gamer. |

"probably won't matter much unless you're a competitive gamer."
correct, it's hardly even noticeable unless you're in an FPS like CS:GO (but 144+ fps in cs:go is pretty easily achieved, so using the 144hz is no issue for me)
source: i started up csgo in 60hz once and immediately noticed something was wrong |

"it's hardly even noticeable unless you're in an FPS like CS:GO"
It's very noticeable.. In the overwatch open beta I got a weird 70 fps cap bug while in the menus, and I could definitely tell the difference. It's fixed now though, so I get 144 fps in the menus. |

| I see. I didn't notice it (it being 60hz as opposed to 144) as much in GTA V gameplay as I did in CS:GO, for some reason |

| I don't mean the FPS change won't be noticeable, I just mean the extra input lag won't be. |

| lol this is almost my build except for a few slight changes. the i5-4690k & 960 have been working amazing for me, can blast 350+ fps in csgo, and quite a bit more in less graphic-intensive games. |
