Back in 2014, ROBLOX introduced the ROBLOX Winter Games. This was done in honor of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, which were going on at the time. The 2014 ROBLOX Winter Games had several different games to choose from, all of them being various different winter sports and activities, with the exception of ROBLOX Karts. Unfortunately 2015's ROBLOX Winter Games completely dropped the winter-themed lobby and all the winter sports and activities in favor of re-skinned developer-made games, and 2016 didn't even have a Winter Games. But that's a different discussion for a different time.
So why am I telling you all this about the ROBLOX Winter Games when we're supposed to be talking about the ROBLOX Summer Games? Well, I'll explain that soon.
So now on to the ROBLOX Summer Games. Back in 2014, ROBLOX introduced the Summer Games as a bit of a "sequel" to the ROBLOX Winter Games. It didn't really follow any general summer theme, and the event was more of a way to celebrate the new introduction of Player Points and leaderboards. The event was still fun however, and the games that were featured were great. Unfortunately in 2015, the event was replaced with a Minions sponsorship, and ROBLOX Summer Camp. The community found both, especially the Minions event, to be extremely disappointing.
If you're still reading after those huge blocks of text, congratulations! Now we're finally to the reason why I even made this thread in the first place. My suggestions for a possible 2016 Summer Games.
As I'm sure that you all probably know already, the 2016 Rio Olympic Games are this year. So why did I mention all that stuff about the 2014 ROBLOX Winter Games and the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics? Because I feel that the effort that went into making the 2014 ROBLOX Winter Games was because of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. The event even had an Olympic theme, where you could win Bronze, Silver, and Gold medal badges and hats for your ROBLOXian to wear. So here's what I think ROBLOX should do for the 2016 Summer Games. That is, if ROBLOX plans on doing a 2016 Summer Games.
Make the event slightly inspired by the 2016 Rio Olympics, just like how the 2014 ROBLOX Winter Games were slightly inspired by the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Make the lobby function similarly to the WG14 lobby, but on someplace like an island, rather than a mansion. Instead of the gondolas carrying you away to whatever games the event will have, you will be taken away to the event's games by hopping on something like a speedboat instead.
And for the games themselves? Make them a little more inspired by summer sports. How about a boat race, or a swimming contest but with an "extreme" twist to make things more exciting? Maybe one of ROBLOX's several running games? WG14 had a few games that were made specially for the event. How about doing something like that again for the (possible) SG16?
Of course, there's the obvious possibility that none of these will come true, and that the SG16 will just follow the same old developer game with hidden prizes that ROBLOX has been using so much recently. They might not even make a SG16.

Why do you think I put a "REALLY LONG" disclaimer in the thread title? This is supposed to be a serious discussion for people like me that actually like the ROBLOX events. This is no time for trashposting.

| I thought the Summer Games in 2014 were fairly summer themed, especially around fireworks. However, yes I think a Summer Games 2016 would be awesome. |

@Google
I don't remember the 2014 ROBLOX Summer Games too well (It was admittedly rather forgettable) but I think I do vaguely remember it having a bit of a fireworks theme.

Roblox might try a bit to make it like the olympics 2016, but I highly doubt it, likely just some dumb event with slap on hat givers in developer places.
Either way, Summer games 2016 was ruined by 2015's awful sponsor

Yep. Unfortunately ever since the introduction of DevEx and WAY more sponsors, there hasn't been a single good ROBLOX event. (In my opinion) They manage to pull off a good one once in a while, like the Zootopia event and the Egg Hunt 2016, but it's still hard to come by a good event these days.

ROBLOX hasn't been really good at managing their time lately. You saw the catastrophe with the Endless Summer Camp Out event. That game was so bugged. You can easily tell that the hosts lacked preparation. So if they can't manage a simple event like that, I don't see how they can pull of this one.
I'm not saying this isn't a good idea, because I absolutely love it. Just don't be surprised if they don't consider one bit of this. |

They still do Halloween events. Unfortunately, last year's was sponsored, just like pretty much every other event in 2015.
@SPEED
Yep, it seems like ROBLOX just doesn't know how to manage events that go anywhere beyond "Leave it to these three developers to sneak random prizes in their games and let people find them". However, the Zootopia and Egg Hunt 2016 events do show that ROBLOX can sometimes pull it off, though often rarely.

| I feel like the ESCO event was something planned at the last minute, and the Egg Hunt was well-thought and actually discussed around the table. So for them to actually pull this off, they'd have to start discussing it ASAP, AKA, now. |

summary (hoping this is correct): make a roblox summer games 2016 version of the 2014 winter games, a little bit based of the 2016 rio olympics

| You mean, you don't want to use games that are pre-built? That's a horrible terminology for "Dev event". (IMO) |
