You are saying that the old testament no longer counts. It is still part of the bible and the bible is infallible to true believers.

good gosh
okay let me explain some things
1 Timothy is in the New Testament, lol. It's also an epistle.
Epistles are letters written to churches. They were almost exclusively (maybe exclusively) written by Paul.
1 Timothy, of course, is included in that list of epistles by Paul. It wasn't written by Timothy, it was a letter to Timothy in regards to a church.
The church in question was pretty messed up - hence the reason Paul wrote a letter and Timothy was helping stuff. One of these issues was with the women.
LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET'S GET SOME CONTEXT
The beginning of that chapter of 1 Timothy.
8 I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; 9 likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, 10 but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. 11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.
In verse 8, you can see that Paul is talking about prayer without anger. This is because there was prayer... with anger.
In verse 9, he talks about how women should be modest and have self control (note: the braided hear/gold/pearls/costly attire was cultural stuff, not held in the same stigma as it is today). This indicates that women had issues with modesty and self control.
Verse 10 isn't actually legalistic ("works get you into heaven" doctrine, which is wrong), it just means that a Christian should be doing good stuff. If you have the faith, you have the works. (not the other way around)
Verse 11 is where it gets interesting. With all submissiveness? Ahh. How terrible.
nah. Look right before that - "let a woman learn quietly..." Yup, they were being disruptive and causing issues... so that brings us back into 12.
Why did Paul not permit woman to exercise authority over men? Because they were being disruptive and ungodly.
do you want an explanation on Leviticus as well?

if you could fully understand any God (Christian, Muslim, Hindu, etc.), is that really a God worth worshipping?
you'll find lots of crazy stuff in the Bible - it's not impossible if you consider that the Bible shows God as omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient

The fact that the bible portrays God as omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient can suffice as a reason to disregard Christian faith as a whole.

once again
if you were to understand everything about Christianity, it wouldn't even be worth disregarding. It'd be a joke.
see the issue there
also, let me ask you this:
if you find that incredible
how do you find it credible that the rapid expansion of a small substance released large amounts of substances, with intense macroevolution properties, resulting in things that we still don't understand?
i mean really
i find that way harder to believe, but that's just me

We are not cosmologists idiot. If you want to understand the big bang then go read up on the subject yourself. Your ignorance on the subject is not evidence against its validity. Scientists have dedicated their careers to the acquisition of knowledge that supports the theory.

thank you for proving my point
If you want to understand the Bible, then go read up on the subject yourself. Your ignorance on the subject is not evidence against its validity. Theologians have dedicated their careers to the acquisition of knowledge that supports Christianity.

LOL you stupid idiot. Theologians have wasted their lives in the study of the bible. The difference between a theologian and a scientist is that the theologian regards scripture as an axiom of truth when there is no logical reason to do so. Meanwhile, scientists use the scientific method to establish theories that align with data collected through experimentation.

I can write a fantasy book that has no bearing on reality. If I write that the force of gravity acting on Earth is 100 m/s^2 instead of 9.8 m/s^2 then scientists can discredit my statement by conducting experimentation. The theologians take my statement of 100 m/s^2 as infallible when it is clearly bull crap.
