So, you have just finished the Nursing Quiz at TRGH. You are now a nurse at TRGH! But, you have never known how to properly treat a patient which has been rather stressful since you probably don't want to be fired. Well, this is to help the beginner nurses on how to impress your higher ranks!
The first thing is the Sign In/Registration desk. We usually tend to keep the nurses out of the front desk because it is A LOT more helpful to treat patients who are seated. Remember, people who are ranked patient have priority over people who are ranked guest. Also, those who are seated will be treated first no matter what rank they are in the group. So, try to treat those who are seated, if nobody is seated, treat people ranked patient.
The second thing is, how to help patients. There are a few MAJOR pieces of information you want to collect before going to find a diagnosis. These things are: 1) Their Chief Complaint. Example: Chest pains. 2) The patients roleplay name and age. 3) Any Allergies or Medical History they have. 4) How long have they been experiencing their symptoms.
If a PGY-1 or higher asks you to present a case, you would do it like this. "John Doe, presents with Chest Pain, Back Pain and Abdominal Pain. He is allergic to morphine and has a family history of Aortic Aneurysms. He has been experiencing these symptoms for 2 weeks now and said it is only getting worse."
The third thing is basic rules. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PERFORM ANY KIND OF SURGERY OR, RADIOLOGY SCAN. If you are caught doing surgery, you will be immediately permanently suspended. If you are caught doing any radiology scan, you will be questioned and possibly temporarily suspended.
If there is no surgeon online, please try to contact one. Any Attending or higher is allowed to do surgery by themselves.
