| What I mean is that in the modern age we are attempting to craft culture by forcing such practices into things like education, when in-fact our past culture was created by technological advancement and a changing world, which is what I have been forgetting. |

They shouldn't cut it out because art and music is some peoples thing, some people like computers, some people like sports, art and music is like those peoples sports and computers
I'll take that as a compliment |

I'm writing up a speech right now.
My reasons I have so far:
1. Expresses creativity 2. Great alternative for kids who aren't into athletics 3. Loss of jobs of numerous teachers and staff 4. Most donations comes from the arts and music programs 5. Futures ruined such as those who are working to be an artist or musician 6. Gives our school a bad reputation & makes this one horrible school look better 7. We're paying for our own instruments, not the school 8. We can't show up at a football game and not have a marching band to play 9. Way too many parent and student complaints

Schools exist to develop students that can be gainfully employed in the modern era.
Cut all funding to arts, athletics, music, gym/p.e., etc. |

OP, have you actually considered the priorities? What else can they cut down? How badly will academic classes be effected if they keep the programs? You need to help offer up solutions or else you aren't appealing to the board, they'll be less likely to listen to your request. |

I hate political correctness. That is why I am voting Trump.
Bernie Sanders would be like "we have to tax the rich to fund Art and Music." |

Solutions to help the school with its financial troubles:
1. Cut out field trips 2. Cut out guest speakers every 2 weeks 3. Cut out the only 4 people in the school on the ping pong team 4. Start fundraisers to help academic programs and the school 5. Cut out "Twitter Tuesdays" / Spending over $200 in gift cards every week 6. Cut out some electives such as manufacturing which you can take at this one school(You can choose to go in place of electives at our school, which offers engineering programs, computer programs, manufacturing, etc.) 7. Quit buying Chromebooks for the middle school kids who don't need them.

| Say that you should cut the sports team because only a few players are on the team but there are more music and arts students. |

| if you are writing to the school board say something like "if you want to cut expenses, then you should be cutting the money devoted to the sports teams which only benefit a few team members and the coach." |

| The school also overpays our teachers too, and there's way too many of them. Get rid of the ones everyone hates, and that will save the school tons of money. |

We currently have a little over 300 students to fight for the music & art programs tomorrow, including people who aren't involved in either. |

| OMG I HATE WHEN POLITICALLY CORRECT LIBERALS STICK THEIR NOSES INTO THINGS. IF THEY ARE NOT INVOLVED THEY SHOULD NOT BE ARGUING IN FAVOR OF SPENDING TAXPAYER MONEY ON AN ARTS PROGRAM. |

What about the effects that cutting out other things will have on that group as well? Though your school does seem to have more money than I thought if it's able to overpay teachers, do gift card drawings, and afford guest speakers. |
