If you’re unable to afford the uniform, either avoid getting on the team or wear a vest if one is provided. Uniforms are also required at tryouts. It’s recommended you wear a vest at night so you can be seen by other motorist. If law enforcement attempts to pull you over, you MUST pull over. Same if a someone claims to be supervisor+ within Rockport DOT.
You are not above the law. All traffic laws and Rockport laws still apply to you, on or off duty. In the circumstance you was to do criminal activity, on or off duty, you can be faced with suspension, and possibly demotion.
The radio is to be used for official purposes, such as calling for law enforcement. You are not to talk about unofficial business in the radio, nor are you to spam the radio,
Radio spam will be classified as multiple lines of text in the radio with no break from the person using the radio.
While on duty, you’re required to use your lights when you’re doing your job.
There are to be no more than 10 people on the DOT team. This rule does not affect Helens and when a city is in the season of winter. Try to balance tows and plows. If the city is not in the season of winter, all members are required to either tow or ride with a plower.
Failure to comply with any of the rules will result in punishment. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ II - Plowing Rules
The following are the rules for plowing while being on the Ohio Department of Transportation team:
You must always plow on the right side on the road. However, if the snow is bad enough on the left hand side, you may plow the left hand side of the road ONLY if APD is blocking the road.
While plowing, you’re required to have on the following: Headlights, roof lights (bar lights), directors, and beacons.
If the city is in the season of winter, you’re required to plow unless a tow is requested.
While plowing, you must maintain 2nd gear, which is 22SPS. This includes the highway, city roads, capital roads, etc.
While you’re plowing, your plow should be at one of the following places: When plowing city streets, your plow should be Down and Right. When plowing parking lots, your plow should be Down and Center. When you’re plowing the left side of the road, your plow should be Down and Left. When your plow is not in service, your plow should be Up and Center
Failure to comply with any of the rules will result in punishment. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ III - Towing Rules
The following are rules for towing while being on the Ohio Department of Transportation team:
You’re not permitted to tow plows, tow trucks, or government vehicles, such as Homeland Security cars.
You’re not permitted to tow personnel vehicles with lights and/or sirens on.
While towing, you must use caution lights during the job. That would be loading the bed, locking it, and driving back to station.
If you encounter a flipped vehicle, you may tow it.
If you run into a disobedient citizen while towing, call for APD assistance and wait for their arrival. Anyone who is caught breaking any of the above said rules can face punishment at the discretion of the suspender. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ IIII - Shout Rules - Shouts are to remain mature and relevant to OhioDOT.
Only Head Supervisor+ can issue a shoutlock with Deputy Director+ consent.
Deputy Director's can overshout, call off, and issue a shoutlock if needed.
Director can overshout, call off, and issue a shoutlock if needed.
QOTD's are to remain mature, appropriate, and non-controversial. {Something that couldn't cause a fight on the wall.}
Anything that has KIS, or Keep in Shout, in it, must remain in the shout at all times.
Do not overcrowd the shout. If it gets full, make a All Shout forum will all of the shouts in it.
Anyone who is caught breaking any of the above said rules can face punishment at the discretion of the suspender. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ V - Trello Rules
ONLY Supervisor+ should be on Main Control and Job Log trello's
ONLY Deputy/Head Supervisor+ should be on High Command Portal trello
ONLY DD+ and D/HOC should be on Complaints Portal
No one besides the Director and Deputy Director(s) is allowed to delete cards, Supervisor - D/HOC may Archive cards
Any person who decides to Admin Abuse a official Ohio Department of Transportation Trello Boards will be blacklisted and kicked from RDOT.
For a board to be official, it must have at least one(1) Deputy Director on it and/or Director
