there was a family outside my window i had been watching for the past few days there were 3 baby cardinals and the mom and dad I looked a few minutes ago and saw my neighbor's cat on the windowsill. I yelled at it and it jumped down, and then i saw it. She had knocked the nest to the ground and eaten one of the babies. I got out there and she was dragging off another. I found the third under the nest, it was still moving. I put it back up but it was moving less and less, wasn't chirping or anything. The mama just came back but didn't go to the nest, just stood where it was originally and chirped. I hope that baby is ok and the mama sees it.
Gosh that was awful. I know it's nature and all but hell, those babies were making me so happy to watch.

Bring the baby inside till it's warm. It's obvious the parents can't do anything.

@poke idk they're hanging around it it had to have broken some bones when it fell, my mom thinks it'll just prolong its agony if we bring it in we can't afford to take it to a vet or anything, not like there's one open this time of day anyway

it's alive still but i don't think the parents are coming if there's a chance for it to live i want it to live you never know i want this baby to live my dad says he thinks the parents will come back, but im not so sure he made a screen out of chicken wire to keep the cat away, but if the parents don't come back the baby may freeze |

Keep an eye on it. If something seems really wrong(The parents don't return) then go out and grab it. Sure it's disturbing nature but if you really care about that bird than help it all you can. For all we know, it could become a disney moment and the adult birds trust you.
