Seriously ROBLOX, just because it's not 2010 or 2013 anymore, doesn't mean no one cares about them. Literally every single cart game is dead, including mine, because they won't work no matter what because the new stupid updates make them freeze or tilt off the rails...

Fix or remove the idea from game. No one wants to play with crappy carts.

I don't see what's wrong with them, looking at the scripts. Every free model out there is broken, and I couldn't code one any differently myself. Plus, I'm sure it would have already happened if there was a way, with games like "Cart ride into sponge bob" and cart ride into the minions, which have millions of visits and a few players still on the servers, trying to play but they can't because the carts keep glitching out or getting stuck. I don't think the problem is the carts necessarily, rather the game engine or whatever stupid updates they did over the course of the years to make them break. I have not played since 2012, and I am just now coming back so I don't know exactly what change messed it all up but yeah, just an old player that can't seem to let go I guess. Everyone else already forgot about them like they never existed. Plus they aren't monetize-able so why would anyone care

I'm not trying to put you down or anything, but there are a lot of cool things back then that are broken, but the only thing you can do about it is either improve it, or simply let it go. Complaining and/or justifying how they're advancing with technology is certainly not the way to go.

Yeah I know complaining won't do anything, (Like ROBLOX would ever read, much less take into consideration) I just wanted to see other player's thoughts and opinions about it.

It's not Roblox's job to provide new carts or fix ones that are already out there. Those are player made models (right?), so its up to players to fix them.

This whole problem has to do with the godawful new physics system, and ROBLOX is removing support for the Legacy mode in 2 days. While it's not ROBLOX's job to keep one model working, this steaming pile of manure has broken a ton of vehicles as well.

I'd rather not have to rework them all because of some stupid update that nobody asked for, especially considering all this "new physics" system does is make parts react differently depending on their material. How difficult is it to just let us have it turned off?

^ That's what I am talking about. It obviously has to do with the BodyVelocity, BodyForce and BodyGyro classes.... because as far as I can see there is nothing wrong with the carts.

And I was actually wondering about that. I have changed the material on some of my tracks to give them a different aspect, but I didn't think that would affect the function (It shouldn't for any reason, since the material property of items are just for the aspect, not for actual function...) but it seems that my cart always has difficulty going over wood tracks... lol

You think that's bad? I used to have motorbikes working perfectly fine in my game using Legacy mode. Switch to default to brace for the forced update, now when two people sit on it it instantly falls on the floor and starts freaking out trying to stabilize itself.

Whatever this "new" physics system is, broken doesn't even BEGIN to describe it.

The year is 2050. Roblox is now one of the most realistic games. The graphics are amazing, and the physics are very realistic.
...
except roblox had to keep the old crappy physics engine in their program just to preserve a few games that were made in its infancy.

They are dead because no cart works anymore, and either they always get stuck or tilt off the rails. There is potential to revive them..... if anyone can make a working cart. I've been messing around with the physics settings, no success.

Infortality, I don't know how you define realistic physics, but with New physics I've seen my players get catapulted into the air by walking into a fence post. That looks a bit like a step backwards to me.

You have to use GetMass() now for each thing that you use BodyForce on.... that explains it. I think I made my carts more balanced at least.

cart games should be banned. they are worse than obbies. you just sit in a fkin cart and wait 10 hours untill you get to the end which gives you stupid tools. How. The. Shiet. Is. That. Fun.

the whole point of the cart ride genres is for them to fall off and make you restart. Otherwise they would be pointless
