The Presidential Election to elect the sixth President of France shall begin at 18:00 BST (13:00 EDT) on the 21st of May and end at the same time on Monday the 23rd.
The Constitutional Council has agreed to prevent the need for many rounds by using the Single Transferable Vote system. This means that voters will have the choice to rank candidates, 1 being their first preference. If one candidate is the first choice of over 50% of voters, they will win the election, if not, then the candidate with the least first choice votes will be disqualified, and all their votes go to the voters second choice. This process continues until one candidate has over 50% of the votes.
We have 13 candidates running for President, all of whom will be in the place in which voting will take place for voters to select. For more information on any candidate, voters should contact the candidate directly, or look out for campaign posts on the group wall.
[IMPORTANT] The voting place will be released shortly before voting begins in a new post. Please keep an eye on the group shout to know when voting opens.
May the best candidate win, FabuleuxJess President of the Constitutional Council
