| I think the original version deals with the sadness of being an addict and made the song more dark, but Johnny Cash put so much emotion that the song came out more sad and regretful. |

| @circrak I somehow find myself agreeing with Vunal I think since hurt was one of the last songs Johnny Cash recorded before he died it sounded like it was his swan song. |
