| You don't animate weapons. You make an animation and use it on the player when the weapon is used in-game.Use an animatoin editor plug-in to make animations>export it>Play it via a script in player. |

^ actually, you do and that wouldnt work at all because the weapon wouldnt exactly follow the movements of the player welding it like normal would make it feel weird and unnatural |

| @eyerny welding would work for most cases, but complex animation where i want to control the sword seperately would be impossible to accomplish with the conventional way. |

| The animation editor will let you animate the actual player, so if it's something like movements with the weapon, like swinging a sword, you can use the editor because the weapon will stay in the player's hand, they will both move together. |

| Yes, but that's only for single handed weapons, what about dual-wield? I want to know. :) |

I've animated guns, plus animations work in filtering enabled I think.

@HunterLX1 nope, works for dual-wielding too, animate both hands and weld weapons to both hands.
@OP If you want to make the weapon also move you'd have to make motor6D joints from the weapon handle to the player's hand and move it manually through a script.Although if you want simple animation of hands then animation editor would do. |
