Well, I've been in the mood to write lately, and more specifically I've been in the mood to RP. Dead forum or not, I'd like to see about writing up and OPing something that isn't No More Heroes (Much as I love that ISRP.) Problem is, I can't really think of anything to terribly interesting to do. I've been re-watching Black Lagoon, but I can't think of anything to really do with the series that would be interesting.

Anyway, that's the reason I'm posting this. What would you morons like to see? Toss me some ideas and I'll see if I can work with them and make something decent. I'd prefer something that would wok as an ISRP, but I'd be willing to do a proper RP if the concept is interesting enough.

Well, have at it!

How about a scenario where a large wildfire is engulfing your hometown, and you have to find a way to get rescued or escape somehow before the whole area is burned down? It could work as an ISRP and could have a mechanic where it says what locations in the vicinity are still standing.

I kinda just came up with that.

It's an interesting concept, for sure. Thank you happy.
I'll think about it at the very least

About what?
That you were able to come up with that idea on the spot?
Or that I'm not being a ass about everything?

Both.

I MEAN---That I came up with an idea so quickly. Crazy, I must say.

No, by all means, call me an ass. I know I am, and have no qualms about people thinking of me as such.

Anyway, back on topic. The main problem I see with the idea is making it into something. It really isn't that hard to escape a fire. You just move the other way. I'd need to find a way for the the player character to be there without it being something contrived or stupid.

Well, it'd be in a case where the town is surrounded by foliage, which would make the fire go around and completely surround the town. Really, if the guy didn't get out of the area in time, he'd either suffocate or burn to death.

Also, if you end up making this but it's an ISRP, you'd play alone and without NPCs (unless you think it should have that). And if you made it into an RP, all of the characters would be trapped together.

1. Mid-40s American noir ISRP where you are a detective and you have to rely on evidence, both physical and vocal, to catch the perpetrator(s) of the crime committed.

2. Call of Duty: Black Ops III deconstruction. While the ISRP would start off as faithful to the original game, it would eventually devolve into a full-blown deconstruction that spits on not only the game, but what CoD eventually became as a whole.

3. Semi-grand strategy MPNRP (Multi-Player Nation RP). It takes place during World War 2, and players can make their one nation make alliances or rivalries between others.

4. Generic exploitation fantasy RP. Just kidding, a Town of Salem RP.

If I went with that idea, there'd have to be NPCs.
Are you going to sit there and tell me that every other person in the town got out but your character didn't? No, of course not. That wouldn't make any sense.
Anyway, a RP like that would be more based on character interaction than anything. For the most part, you'd just be waiting for a rescue vehicle to come. Unless this were to be set in the 18 hundreds, in which case everyone is f**ked
And, I mean, I can do interaction based RPs (look at most of my No more heroes threads), but I'd also need something interesting for the player to work towards, and things along the way to accomplish so as to keep things enjoyable on the way to the end goal.
I dunno. I think I could do it, but it'd take a lot of effort and a lot of fleshing out.

Ah, you can always count on marc to give out some interesting ideas

1. Mid-40s American noir ISRP where you are a detective and you have to rely on evidence, both physical and vocal, to catch the perpetrator(s) of the crime committed.

People have been talking about making one of these pretty much since I joined RP. Might finally pull the trigger on this idea, but I dunno. I'll think about it.

2. Call of Duty: Black Ops III deconstruction. While the ISRP would start off as faithful to the original game, it would eventually devolve into a full-blown deconstruction that spits on not only the game, but what CoD eventually became as a whole.

Sounds like someone is a little bit angry about infinite warfare. Anyway, I have very, very little experience with any CoD games. I know the gist of the series, and I've seen enough game play to understand how it works, but I'd still have to do some research on the series. Will take it into consideration though.

3. Semi-grand strategy MPNRP (Multi-Player Nation RP). It takes place during World War 2, and players can make their one nation make alliances or rivalries between others.

You've hit my weak spot here mang. I love nation RPS, but I haven't seen any good ones in a very long time. I'd ask you to elaborate though. Are you asking for a basic WWII NRP, where everyone takes control of the countries that existed at that time, or are you suggesting an NRP with custom nations, but the same technology as was used in WWII? I'd be down for either, in all honesty.

4. Generic exploitation fantasy RP. Just kidding, a Town of Salem RP.

Well, I have been listening to Radiohead - Burn the Witch a sh.it ton lately. I'll think about it.

um, h-here's an attempt! i... i guess?

idk. just a thing that i had a while ago. that i'm not sure what to do with.

In the future, space colonization was already a reality, along with instant food, artificial and robotic limbs as replacement, and space prisons. Many of these space prisons were private, and often had their own rules outside most of the laws. Some of these rules can be considered cruel and unusual. However due to their intense security due to it being in space, and their relatively low fees, planets tend to usually send prisoners with very long sentence into places like these.

This one in particular forces their prisoners to go through strange and unusual competitions for the higher-up's entertainment. These competitions are often, if not always, deadly and violent, often requiring the prisoners to hurt or injure each other or themselves. This prison also takes prisoners of all kinds with little to no regard for the severity of the crime, and while most people consider it to be a cruel and unusual death sentence, rarely, if ever is anyone is able to get out without a scratch.

The competitions usually come in form of segments, with each segment having their own twist and turns and conditions for winning. The segments won't just be all fighting, however, perhaps it's boat rowing, or maybe it's a partner paired obstacle course? Or, just maybe, it's a silly game of truth and dare? But either way, it's always going to be something deadly one way or another. In between segments, there will be a break time, between 5 minutes to ten hours. Depends on how merciful the host feels like being. The whole challenge is, if one were able to survive through these competitions, they'll be able to be free, with their crime records scrubbed free, and with a fresh new start.

"People have been talking about making one of these pretty much since I joined RP. Might finally pull the trigger on this idea, but I dunno. I'll think about it."

Sounds fair to me.

"Sounds like someone is a little bit angry about infinite warfare. Anyway, I have very, very little experience with any CoD games. I know the gist of the series, and I've seen enough game play to understand how it works, but I'd still have to do some research on the series. Will take it into consideration though."

TBF I only played some minutes of CoD:MW 2, and the first bits of CoD:AW, so I'm kind of indifferent. IIRC my brother got CoD:BO and CoD:BO3. Recently, CoD has been getting some hate lately for the oversaturation of futuristic shooters, which is probably the reason I just came up with that idea.

"You've hit my weak spot here mang. I love nation RPS, but I haven't seen any good ones in a very long time. I'd ask you to elaborate though. I'm suggesting a WWII semi-grand strategy MPNRP (meaning a usual strategy NRP but with grand strategy elements added) with no fictional/custom nations and just the real ones. Of course it'll start in September 1st, 1939, but players can choose to either have their nation on the Allies side, or the Axis side. For example, if I join (yet I don't usually join NRPs) and make America side with the Axis, it may make for some interesting alternate history. Of course if a nation is picked by nobody, that nation would either be under control of an NPC (unless a player takes control of said nation) or not participate in the war.

"Well, I have been listening to Radiohead - Burn the Witch a sh.it ton lately. I'll think about it."

Okay then.

Hang on, I just remembered: I had an idea that I almost started making, but...you know. I even announced a possible collaboration on it, and it had a pretty much 100% positive reputation, but it's kind of dead now, so I'll hand it to you.

The year is 1952.
It takes place in a world where art was never and will never be appreciated. In general, if you get caught drawing, sketching, painting, illustrating, or that of the like, you will be punished. The punishments range depending on the severity. If you make a huge collaborative mural repeatedly or something like that, you'll face execution.

After a while, a few especially rebellious individuals decide to take a stand and form an unnamed group that is utterly against the government and the stupid law that has been put in place. They sketch, draw, and paint endlessly and become good friends.

Almost a year later, a citizen reportedly tells a government agent that a group is rebelling against them and creating art. So then chaos ensues when the group is notified and has to evade the government for what seems like an eternity.

In the RP the characters would have to avoid getting killed if they played as a member of the art group. Or they could be a government guy or a neutral citizen.

I even have a name for it: The Algonquin Revolution.

I'm tired, here have a half-assed idea

you play as a person who died in some ancient war and gets revived in the near future and is forced to adapt for a new war

of course there's other people who have been revived because you play as some fictional country who's military is dying so they had to resort to THIS

An RP based around Fallout's Synths?
Nothing else about or from Fallout, I just like their robot spies who even think they are human. Modern based espionage and fun stuff.

Nah nah nah, no research, no actual Fallout. Just robots with fake childhood/life memories implanted. Maybe during the Red Scare, having them originate from Russia.
