Tampa Bay had an incredibly easy path the conference finals this season compared to last season. Last season we went through Detroit when Mrazek was taking steroids, then Montreal with 'Carry' Price and then New York with Lundqvist and their super good defense squad.
This season we went through Detroit who didn't start Mrazek at the start of the series, then the Islanders who are the newest version of the old Washington Capitals who were all Ovechkin, Islanders being all Tavares. The only difficult opponent will be either Pittsburgh or Washington and then of course if we face the Blues in the finals.

What's even more amazing is they did it without stamkos and stralman, if you take away a team #1 C and #2 D then most teams would falter but credit to tampa for being that deep.

Also I have learned the Islanders are one of the most playoff inexperienced teams in the league. Like holy crap do they take a ton of penalties.

Really haven't had a penalty issue before this game. Frustration boiled over.
I don't think it's fair to say you got by us easily. Took 2 OT wins and late goals to beat us, but you did handle us. |

Islanders are definitely going to learn a lot from this series.

I have also been reaffirmed through these two series that Nikita Kucherov can definitely be the face of the franchise if Stamkos were to leave.

But honestly, if were getting outshot every game by the Islanders I just can't imagine what it'll be like against Pittsburgh or Washington.
