Suggestion: Disable the "paste" action (typically Ctrl+v) in the comment TextBox for all Roblox places/models/etc.

Purpose: Minimize chain spam and advertisements, especially from young users who don't know not to spread it

Obviously older users could still use bots (and possibly other work-arounds - ex, disabling javascript, if you implement the idea using javascript), but at least you can stop the younger users who haven't been taught to ignore chain spam.

My idea would not increase the number of hackers.
With my idea, the comments would increase in quality (even if only a little), letting them serve their purpose better.

What if you're trying to respond to someone's long comment? You'd have to type out the WHOLE THING.

SUPPORT, SUPPORT, SUPPORT!!!!!

There is absolutely no reason why anyone should paste something in the comments. And when it is a reason, it's mostly spams, ads, or scams! If it's so necessary to paste, then do it on the forums!

"Inspect element the box" Does everyone know how to do this? Especially those who are most likely to be fooled by chain spam? I doubt it!

"What if you're trying to respond to someone's long comment? You'd have to type out the WHOLE THING." There's already a cap of 200 characters, so it can't be that long!

"this is a perfect idea to eradicate all the freaking bots" Unfortunately my idea would not stop bots, but it would stop younger people from perpetuating chain spam (or copy/pasting an advertisement to their game everywhere).

That's a bad idea. (not disagreeing but just saying)

1.

Well, kids could still spam. Why? they could just like say things with letters/numbers.

Such as;

"THIS IS BOB (O_O)/ COPY PASTE HIM NOW!!11!1"

You see. This wouldn't fix the problem.

I could easily just type in a game link to advertise without the copy paste action/spam anyways.

BUT, I think that this'd be a better idea.

You have to join. Then rate it. Then comment.

Or just join to comment for at least 1 minute due to people not actually playing the game and disliking it for no reason.

Yes, even some bots can join games. But they cannot click. (at-least i think so).

So there should either be that OR there should be a bot-check/at-least a button saying; "I am not a robot".

Over-all it is a good idea and i sorta agree but this'd make it much easier.

Clicking just sends a request. A bot can emulate that request.

@rapunzeal:
-The point is that they wouldn't be able to copy/paste the message rapidly. If they wanted to repeat a message in 10 different places, it would take them a long time to type it all out.
-You already have to play a place before you can rate it (unless they've removed this?). I don't think rating should be required to comment, but perhaps commenting should not be possible if you haven't played it.
-Bots can do whatever they're programmed to, including clicking

Google offers reCAPTCHA, free (I see rapunzeal mentioned this -- it's the "I am not a robot" box, which looks at a lot more than just to see if you've clicked a box - for instance, they look at *how* you click the box -- that is, how your mouse moves before you click it). Whether using this system or inventing their own, Roblox could also use this to try and reduce spam.
