Now before you tear me to shreds with your almighty keyboard skills, hear me out.

Ever since Roblox has been developed, the population of users has grown at a very fast rate. Meanwhile, the BC member population increases rather steadily, and has a difficult time keeping up with the NBC growth. Of course, it's a lot easier to sign up and play a game, rather than pay money to use only certain benefits.

With the growing population of users who do absolutely nothing but play games, I could only imagine how much it costs to keep all the servers running on the site. Remember when 3,000 players in a game was a lot? Yeah, now we have 7,000 on average when it comes to the front page. This growth has only taken a matter of 2-3 years. Think about it, if Roblox doesn't successfully do something that'll rapidly increase BC paying members, it will die.

If Roblox were to make the game pay-to-play, not only would paying for servers be a lot less hindering to the company, it would also create amazing things.

With all this extra money, Roblox can add new features that'll help it evolve and keep up with the rapidly developing gaming industry.

Let's face it, 10 years ago Roblox was a brilliant concept. Nowadays, the idea of virtual building blocks don't excite people as much as futuristic shooting games and other things of that nature.

If Roblox doesn't slowly transition to pay-to-play or somewhere near that, it may end up dying out.

@Alonso,

If the parents raise their child so poorly to the point that they're capable of stealing credit card info from them and buying things with it, they probably shouldn't even be taken seriously.

@Dared

Maybe if you actually read it instead of being stubborn and thick, you would understand the importance of the concept.

If I wanted to "Pay-to-Play" something, then I would pay, and then play. Not play and then be forced to pay if I want to enjoy it.

It doesn't cost Roblox a lot to keep severs running. The server host Roblox is using is pretty cheap and a server doesn't take that much to run anyways.

Also they take in HUGE revenue from ads and sponsors. Disney is one of there big $$$ makers.
Making the game "Pay to Play" will make them loose out on the Advertisement money. Disney won't pay a website with small traffic. It's just not cost-effective. F2P members are the ones who see the Ads Disney is paying Roblox to show. Hence why all the sponsor content is free.
Also during the thirty days of Tixapalooza, the site had the lowest site traffic in the past two years, almost a 40% drop. They lost quite a lot of money during that month.

Roblox either way would have to make updates and content, they need to attract more players, not lead them away. Who would want to play a dead game?

@Scoot

If players start to realize,"wow, they aren't putting that much effort into updates and the game is trash compared to steam and console games" that number could easily plummet in a matter of years.

Their player base is mostly kids, kids don't really care about the quality of the said games or updates as long as they have fun

One problem: there is most likely a number of young programmers out there who want to make games at no cost. Making this p2p would lose all of them

Agreed, if players actually knew it, they need that money to pay employees and keep the site up.

Networth is how much assets they have. It's not a reflection on how much money they have in store. Asset worth rise and fall with the success/failures of the company. If Roblox were to loose popularity then that 4 million dollars will fall rapidly. It's kinda like real estate

Roblox would have to be in deep financial trouble to have to go pay to play and I don't see that happening in many years

They would. It would require a lot of planning and work. The free aspect is what keeps players coming. The content is what makes them spend money.
