| But as time has gone on, I don't think I like it. My real passion is music. I'm going to start taking Music theory classes next semester. I feel so lost in life right now. I don't even know why I'm still posting on here. I'm almost 20 years old! |

| I feel you dude. If you don't have a passion for computer science I'd get out of that before you waste anymore time with it. |

You're an idiot.
Music is NOT profitable. It may not seem like something you want to do, but you NEED something profitable. Analyze the salary of the job you want carefully, fun is unfortunately not a factor in a job that brings home the bacon.

One of the things that deeply saddens me, and to some extent annoys me is seeing everyone who accepts fear disguised as practicality. I have lots of friends who are pursing "safe" careers which will grant them generic 9-5 jobs with "good pay". I simply can't settle for that. I want to do something grandiose with my life. I don't want to be a dreamer that hides in the shadows, since I've already done that for far too long.
Music is considered to be unrealistic. Everyone keeps telling me I need to "get real" when I say I'm interested in music. I don't listen, because I know I'll succeed. I don't know when or how, but I know I will. |

Of course he does, dumbass. Playing football makes me happy, but I know I won't get drafted. Thus, I seek a career as an anaesthesiologist.

Getting through med school for anesthesiology is just as difficult, if not more difficult than being successful in music.
So good luck with that, hypocrite. |

I know dumbass, but it's worth it. Plus, it's not up to you whether you're successful in music, sorry.

Is it really worth it if it's something you don't enjoy? I don't know you personally, so maybe you do enjoy anesthesiology. However, it seems to me that most people shoot for medical-related jobs for the sake of making money.
As I've come to find out recently, money really isn't what pleases me. It could possibly please you though. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you have to search for what makes you happy. Life only happens once, I think... so don't waste it not doing what you want. |

Buddy, do whatever you want. I'm not some sort of lifecoach or something, and nothing I say will change your opinion, nor you mine.
Whatever makes you happy, but when it comes to me money comes first.

Actually, things you do say affect my opinion. I like to listen to people and consider their words. Over the past few years especially, listening to the different views of people has really changed my outlook on life.
Anyway, I always wish the best for everyone. |

I'm glad you have such an optimistic view on life and you seem like a nice person.
I came across as harsh before, best of luck in any future endeavours.

No hard feelings Lucaii, just saying that I agree with Suedes - regardless of salary, you should do what you want to do for a living.
C'mon everyone, let's take a ride in my balloon / casino! |
