I plan to make a tycoon called Made in China, which takes place during the building of the great Wall. You start with a small building with low tech manufacturing devices, and the goal is to create a high tech, ahead of time factory. The catch is, everyone else wants in.
Some of the different unique features involve things like: -Being able to steal money from other people's money to collect stations -The ability to buy better weapons -Being able to break down walls to get into factories -Actually having something else to do while you wait for cash
Tell me if you are interested in helping me script, as I can't.
Thanks in advance! |

I doubt you'll get too many offers to help you make this here, but if you were to give it a go yourself, and try to learn how to do stuff, we would help you with that.
As for gameplay, a lot of these features sound simple code changes to that defacto Tycoon maker people use. But again, this falls into the trap that a player who has been in a server for 1:11 will always be more advanced than a player has been playing for 1:10, and why would that be fun for the second player? I'd recommend moving away from rewards which can hinder other peoples game play because all your ideas sound more frustrating than fun. |

@Pure
It's not offensive at all. China is the manufacturing empire of the world...or at least America, the capital of capitalism. |

Roblox NEEDS a good tycoon. At the moment we have NO good tycoons, none. Something like this would be great. I was making an Oil Tycoon a while back, where it competitive between 4 players, with oil prices depending on how much was being sold and random world events. You could hire mercenaries and sabotage other people. I abounded it as I decided it would never take off on Roblox.

In agreement with the above. The tag line "Made in China" makes you think production, or possibly cheap production (do not get me wrong, cheap ~= bad). Any connotation that may lead you to believe could be intrepreted as offensive is possibly just due to the fact it mentions a specific race of people? But that is not synomyous with being offensive to the aformentioned. |

Are you really Chinese? Or of Chinese descent? Because it's three different things to be from China, born to parents from China, or born into a Chinese heritage. Not that it makes much of a difference to me; it just more clearly conveys your position.
Regardless, you can't deny my aforementioned statement ("China...manufacturing"). It's just simply the norm. |

Yes I'm Chinese. Asian descent mixture of a bunch of stuff. Yes I partake in Chinese heritage. Its true China is a manufacturing country and produces a lot of goods but like I said I don't expect non-Chinese to understand >> from experience

| Saying "I don't expect a non-chinese guy to understand" is actually quite condesending, and is not a valid argument in this scenario. I actually believe your statement to be a huge amount more directly offensive. |

Googling "Why is the phrase Made in China offensive" returns no relevant results on the topic; it seems this is not a common view.

Of course it's more offensive, I'm plainly stating it out. I've went through multiple arguments about this subject(and as I've stated only other Chinese people seem to get it probably since you all are all into the "China production"). >>"Given that most Asians (to make a sweeping generalization) have some measure of self-identity and pride in such self-identity, the statement, or sentiment, that All Asians Are the Same is patently offensive; it is disrespectful to the extreme, and shows a blatant disregard for the individualism and culture of all Asians. " >>>somewhat represents my feelings. And no offense but looping the Great Wall with Made in China gets me pissed even more not to mention to disrespect I feel from the misspelling.

I'll loosely explain why I don't like why he's looping the Great Wall with "Made in China" >>Made In China made for EXPORTS from china not shiz from inside. Putting it on everyday stuff made from china is good and all but looping the great wall of china is just a ton of disrespect in my view.

Right okey dokey.
No one said anything about all asians being the same. We mentioned the tag line, which is probably printed on a huge majority of products which are imported into huge amounts of countries. No where did anyone quib about that, you are so far, the only person to actually tout a racist ideal this entire conversation which is pretty impressive considering your main point is based on your personal emotion which you try to pass off as something that is represented as a whole across the culture in question.
The only person so far to have brought any type of race into this is you, and all of the offensive comments so far have been entirely of your doing. I am genuinely shocked you managed to think up all these connotations when no one else seemed to. |

I think the best solution to this argument is to ask and respond to:
What is particularly offensive to you about the name "Made in China"? |
