oh cool i tried lucid dreaming for like three days but then i gave up
anyway
1) do you do anything to trigger it? if so, what? 2) do you ever have hallucinations and/or sleep paralysis? 3) what do you usually dream about?

| Lucid dreaming used to be how I rehearsed speeches in my Public Speaking I class. It's kind of cool when you have such a strong handle on it that it becomes a resource rather than a special, "mystical" event. |

@ae well a lot of the time it just happens to me randomly. lucid dreaming doesnt neccesarily mean controlling your dreams, just being aware that youre in one. the most common thing that happens to me (usually a few times a week) is that i realize im dreaming and then i have the option to either continue the dream or wake up. the only time i have actually controlled the dream was when my friend told me advice about lucid dreaming. basically what he told me was that if before you go to sleep if you just lay down and for a few minutes just think 'i am going to lucid dream tonight' or something along those lines and really believe that it will happen, it gets stuck in the back of ur mind and then when you are sleeping you will remember those thoughts you were previously having therefore making you realize that you are dreaming. when this happened it was actually a bit uncomfortable for me because it was difficult to keep myself asleep, it was like i was on the border of waking up but i never actually did. i was able to think clearly just as i can do while im awake as well.
@totti no
@fox i dont remember the majority of it because it happened a long time ago and im a bit nervous to do it again, but i do remember thinking mid-dream "huh, so this is what lucid dreaming is like. a lot less fun than i thought it would be." lmao
@pug ive never tried, it sounds scary to me and considering im all about ghosts and spiritual related shiz i get nervous that in the process of doing it i might see something that humans arent necessarily supposed to see. i think of astral projecting almost like entering another dimension, also known as the spirit realm (hence the fact that you are able to see your own body laying in your bed) and i dont think i would handle seeing some of the things over there too well

@z007 1. as mentioned before i have only done it once, but if you lay in bed beforehand and think to yourself 'i am going to lucid dream tonight' and honestly believe that you will, it's likely that the thought will get stuck in the back of your head and that you will remember it mid-dream. when that happens, you should be able to lucid dream. it was a bit hard for me to stay dreaming when i was aware of what was happening, though.
2. i have never experienced either but if you commonly have hallucinations or sleep paralysis this probably isnt a good thing for you to try
3. again, ive only lucid dreamt once (though i can definitely do it again), and all i really did was stand there in realization that i was in a dream and just thought for a little while about how it wasnt nearly as much fun as i had expected it to be, lol.
@mat no hypnotism freaks me out
@cool yeah, it was definitely a cool experience, though i was a bit dissapointed that the dream wasnt as realistic and vivid as i had been expecting it to be.
@do not at all, it was about the same as my normal dreams except for the fact that i could control it. it could be different for different people, though. or maybe i just wasn't in a deep enough sleep.
@cat read a few of the replies ive posted, i have explained multiple times how i do it :)

@vanson yup, thats lucid dreaming! if you know that youre in a dream, most of the time you can control it and choose if you want to wake up or remain asleep as well. it takes some practice to stay asleep, though.
