Rope is a simple theory that I had thought of one dark night. You have a rope that never ends, ever. It’s a continuous flow generated by an unknown force that very well might be the universe we live in and whatever matter contains within. The rope theory is similar to many others, but it’s easier to explain. With the rope, imagine cutting it. What happens? It breaks. However, what if it didn’t break? This is where this unknown force comes in, and “repairs” the rope.

Before I go any further, I would like to explain how this relates to the reality we live in. The way you would cut this rope would be to cause a disturbance in the way time flows. As far as we know currently, this rope has not been cut by ourselves nor any significant beings in our universe. I guess we could be glad because of that.

Here’s a thought. What if this rope could be like a river? Well, it pretty much is. Let’s build a wall in front of it. That is our disturbance. Let’s now compare this to time. As far as society knows, time flows. It doesn’t stop for anything. However, in this scenario, it does. What happens now?

If we stop time, we would need to have an insane amount of force that is capable of doing such a thing. Something virtually impossible to accomplish as the humans we are. However, it may theoretically still be possible in a controlled environment.

Let’s think about how time is continuously making itself. There is a theoretical substance labelled as “Dark Matter” that exists in 85% of the universe. It is known for messing with the gravitational pull of the universe and expanding it. The material of that rope IS the dark matter. To break it, we would have to evaluate how dark matter works in the first place by harnessing it in some way so we can find how to “freeze” or “stop” it. Many, many scientists have thought about this, and with our current technology, there really isn’t a way to get this dark matter.

I apologize for this sudden topic change, but let’s talk about another topic before continuing on. The “Big Rip”. This was a theory a lot of people believe in. There are many other theories, but this one is popular for its believability. I, too, believe in this fate of our universe; However, I want to correct them on something.

Our universe is constantly EXPANDING. Using what? Dark Matter? That may be the case, but shouldn’t we have ran out of it by now? I believe that dark matter is a limited resource, similar to fossil fuels. If you use it all up though, we’re done for. Well, not necessarily.

What will happen, according to my random thought, will be known as the “donut-hole effect”. Essentially, when we do run out of this “dark matter” to use; the universe will rely on remaining dark matter that makes up the universe to expand further. The dark matter that makes up the universe is literally “programmed” to expand.

Imagine a filled-in circle. Now, imagine that it wants to expand with the resources it has no matter what you tell it. Boom, you got the universe in about 100 trillion years. But given newton's law (which I haven’t explained up to this point); you cannot create matter without using an equal amount of matter. Or at least, something similar to that. If you’re in a fight, you want to (hopefully) utilize whatever’s closest to you to survive. That’s what this circle does. This circle expands using the dark matter closest to the outer ring of the circle, and essentially moves everything else inside to expand as well. However, I believe that we have a ginormous amount of dark matter to utilize in our universe. This is probably why scientists theorize it will take trillions of years to actually start affecting us, given we’re still not extinct. Staying on topic here, imagine the inside of this circle stabilizes and dark matter is balanced everywhere in the universe. Well, how nice of the universe to do that, isn’t it? (let’s hope)

Note: If dark matter wasn’t stabilized around the entire universe, the innards would collapse and we’d all probably be dead rather quickly. However, this is also where the source of all dark matter came from. The center. I’ll take note of it in a minute.

Now, imagine this next scenario. In about 100 trillion years, or whenever it will happen, we don’t know for sure, the universe will begin collapsing. The reason is because the universe will grow so big to the point where dark matter cannot stabilize the innards of the universe. This could simply lead to an internal explosion that kills us all, or, potentially something far more lengthy (and survivable).
Perhaps dark matter is smart enough to utilize its own innards of its own universe to keep expanding, keep meeting the demand of whatever controls it. Perhaps it is capable of tearing apart its insides in many different ways. I’ll list a few.

Maybe the universe will start having holes appear at instable areas?
Maybe the universe will collapse from the center (which would contain the least amount of matter?) and move outwards to create a “donut-hole” effect, as I stated earlier.
Maybe the universe will simply collapse from the inside and we all die from the instability of dark matter very rapidly. We really don’t know for sure!

Research past this point is theorized, given we haven’t thoroughly examined dark matter and we have no way to even see it. We can’t even find out what’s in it because we can’t see it, therefore we can’t make a device capable of viewing the materials that make up this dark matter to see it. Guess the scientists really have to deal with a cliffhanger there, poor guys.

I will focus on how the universe collapses and how that affects time itself.
Time is literally a physical form, there’s no other way to describe it.

The “big bang” played a huge role in this universe, as it was the mysterious event that happened out of nowhere which created a sumptuous amount of dark matter for the newly created universe to play with. It decided to expand.

Light seconds / light years are used to determine how far something goes in space. Light seconds / years is basically how long it takes for light to reach an area. One light second is essentially how far light goes in one second (299,800KM). Due to this rapid pace, there is nothing that goes beyond our perception of light and its speed; therefore, we consider light our form of time. But what is TIME? No, not the magazine.

Here, I’ll sum it up.
Time is… a rope. A rope that is fueled by dark matter, forced to expand until it’s own demise, and calculated to our human perception using light.

Time is basically a simple word to describe this. Time is all around us, therefore, we can manipulate it.

Back onto the topic of using a controlled environment, I believe it matters based upon the current state of our universe. We don’t know how badly our universe is doing or how good it is. But depending on that, we can manipulate the time it’s given us.

Take a lot of sci-fi’s for example. You have a space ship, and that spaceship uses a device capable of warping time around it to maneuver through places at unimaginable rates that defy physics. This might sound literally like science fiction, and that’s because it is. At least, for now.

As I’ve said before, manipulating time is an ultimate goal. However, to get to this point, we must discover how our universe works. Might I add on that this isn’t easy.. At all? I’ll give a few factors we don’t know that we must study before venturing into a form of “time travel” if you would even call it that.

Actually, forget that. Let me talk about travelling through time.
I will say this only once. The future does not exist until adjusted by an external factor. It is made by the flow of time which is never-ending. There is a theory where we’re literally living the past, and that the fate of humanity is already decided. It’s a long list of thoughts at this point which are all conflicting and jumbled up. Therefore, I will stick to my opinion. I believe that there are two types of time. The time we currently live in, and time that is light years away. For more simplistic terms, let’s just call it “current time” and “future time”.
Theoretically, it is possible to time travel from our “current time” in the universe to a “future time” which is light years away.
However, we would have to be faster than light and we would also need to defy many laws of the universe.

I believe the past is already decided, however, the future is a mystery.

Here’s a simple idea I thought of just now.

What if I were to make a machine that spun faster than light and was capable of adjusting its internals to clock back or clock forward in time?

The statement people usually say is “oh hey, you get younger!” or “time reverts!” or “time goes ahead!”.. Think about that though. How could time do that? I believe time only affects itself, and that we don’t age or get younger.. No building would decompose or rebuild itself. Time doesn’t work like that. There’s something missing here that I just can’t figure out. Something that’s actually capable of reverting time or setting it forward involving us. We would have to manipulate our time in some way to revert or set forward to things.

Wrote this in about an hour or two, please give me your thoughts! I want them all :D

In 2 billion years, given no form of major warring or death of sort, we would have the technology to get away from the sun lol

Although, due to political concerns, I believe WW3 will kill us all in about 10-20 years. =/

Yep. When Trump gets the nuclear launch codes it's game over, man.
