I may have asked a similar question once or twice before a year ago, but people come and people go and the people who remain learn new things and get new opinions, so I reckon it's worth asking again. If you could go on a vacation to any one place for a week to study the history, language, culture, art and architecture, what place would you go to? At the risk of sounding like an Anglocentric bigot, my personal choice would be England.
That said, though, countries are not the only thing that you can say here. If you want to visit somewhere more specific like just a city, such as, say, York, that's also a valid option. Likewise, if you can't quite make up your mind on the country but know the general area, feel free to say that - British Isles would be a good option to continue on with this theme. However, I'm drawing the line at that - stating the continent (such as Europe), or significant subregion (like Western Europe) is a tad bit too general for this question. |

| Probably Germany. More specifically the old Prussian states, Konigsberg and such. |

| I would go for any Asian countries, more specifically, Japan and South Korea. If I were to go into any European country, that will be Iceland. |

Most definitely Dresden in Germany, probably some other parts in Germany too. As you all know, I'm a magnificent student of such a beautifully spoken language known as German and I think the schnellimbiss stalls are masterpieces.
You heard me right, schnellimbiss stalls are masterpieces. |

There aren't really many good historical places to see in Germany. The Hofbrauhaus is interesting, and delicious, but that's about it. Austria has Alexander the Great's sword and a million other awesome spoils of war on display. (And a giant narwhal horn displayed as a unicorn horn, lmao.)
So, speaking strictly, I'd probably go back to Austria, or Italy. (Almost anywhere on Italy is beautiful and has some awesome historical displays.) My next trip is to Greenland and Iceland though, primarily just for the sights. (Maybe run into some old Norse sights; That'd be nifty.) |

Philadelphia has nothing to do with the formation of England, though.
Oh, as for everyone saying Russia, I'd also enjoy going to Russia as well; it's just not at the top of the list for me. Actually, almost anywhere in Europe would be enjoyable for me (the exception, of course, being the former Yugoslav countries that are currently killing one another, as that just sounds too dangerous for me). |
