Introduction.
As a dispatch for Apple Rail I know that it can be confusing for everyone. One of the most important parts for everyone is the signals. Now you may be saying to yourself, Fred, Why are signals important? Well they are when they are on because on many an occasion People have yelled at people while driving, being a passenger or dispatching because the dispatcher cannot dispatch out of the station IF the signals are on and red even if the dispatch recites the whole swear dictionary you do not leave unless you receive direct permission to depart from the station and SPAD. Yeah so after that note of caution you now have been warned! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dispatch and Conductor: As a driver.
This is going to come in 6 steps. This is going to tell you right from arriving to leaving and with a conductor and without one. 1. Arrive and stop NEAR THE BUFFERS! A lot of people assume that you should stop just after the platform start but don’t as it makes it impossible to get another train on or in the case of platform 2 get a 2‐car train onto platform 1. 2. Wait. It is the official rules there should be approx. 30 seconds of waiting time for passengers to board and drivers to change sides 3. First whistle. This is a signal for passengers and also that if in one with lockable doors to close them unless you have a conductor 4. Some more waiting. 5‐10 seconds this time make sure you are ready in this time 5. Second whistle. Be ready to depart and wait for… 6. The paddle. Which is your signal to leave the station pull out and enjoy driving! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dispatch and Conductor: As a dispatcher.
