at this point I'll go out on a limb and say-whether you like it or not-he's got the presidency locked in
and a lot of people might be saying "well if that's true, we're all screwed"
But, especially following his speech today on foreign policy, I think we now have insight into how he's run his campaign and how he'll actually behave in office. Today's speech was ridiculously professional and I think he played the game perfectly. He brought himself to prominence by playing the part of an insane egomaniac, and took that momentum to paint himself as a "change bringer". A lot of radical republicans liked that, and in states where more radical republicans live, he took that to heart. On other hand, in more moderately aligned states, he's had a tendency to tone his message down a bit and really work towards moderate voters.
Now that he's sure he's won the nomination, he's, really for the first time, brought in his genuine policy and true ideals into play. And his foreign policy is brilliant. It's very well thought out, has been proven in the past as a working policy, and his delivery of that policy was truly professional. It's what I think we can expect out of him an office and it makes me rest a little easier at night truly knowing(not just hearing him say it but hearing his ideals align with it) that he'll take a strong but anti-nuclear approach to foreign policy. He also brought up the major tie-ins to the economy that exist with foreign policy, which makes me thing that he'll bring a very analytical approach to decision making.
The only field that there's any doubt with me still on where he stands is social issues, and I have no doubt that he'll clarify that before the convention.

@owned I agree. Bernie is more independently aligned and his economic policies will break down anything he offers for social issues. He doesn't know how policy makers operate within businesses, and because of that he'll poorly affect unemployment and how people can live when they don't have work. Clinton is a criminal, Kasich has no chance, Cruz is a radical. Trump and bernie are the only viable options, and Trump is the only one of those two who understands enough about economic decisions to not destroy everything his administration works for.
@apex Nooooo Clinton is a lying, scheming criminal who is a massively empty suit and only plays for the power. She messed up bhengazi, prays on fools who think her "pro-racial equality" sham is true(mind you, she called black people "super predators" during Bill's administration), and she strongarms people behind the scenes to get her way. Not a viable, sane option.
@Zealots If anything, Trump's previous facade of being a maniac is what he used to play himself into the nomination The reason I think that today's speech is truly representative of how he'll behave in office is because it's leading up to the convention and he already has the nomination basically locked in(At this rate, he'll win California and NJ, and those are all he really needs). He's not losing support, if anything he's gained it over the past few weeks, and he's not in danger of losing the nomination. There's no reason for him to make a play like that. I also think that there was just too much thought and attention put into today's speech. If he didn't truly want to reflect his policies that way, he'd have absolutely no reason to say what he said today. Wouldn't affect his win. Always assume positive attempt, I guess.

Hillary is going to win. I don't like it, but it's going to happen.
Trump is too radical for the moderates, and in most cases it's the moderates who decide who wins. |
