The Great Army of Britannia - Promotion Guidelines
OVERVIEW These guidelines are a set of requirements for each rank. Once the requirements are met, a member may be promoted to the next rank. The following will outline a completely new system of promotions.
In the new system, at each rank below Ensign, there will be a required amount of merits. Merits can be earned in trainings, raids, line battles, or any sort of event where recommendations are currently given. Merits are replacing recommendations, essentially.
Positives of a Merit System: - Provides more experience gained at each rank - Requires dedication to move up through the ranks - More accurately assesses the knowledge and abilities of members - Allows for a simple disciplinary program (Given demerits for bad behavior)
HOW IT WORKS 1) Each rank requires a certain amount of merits; once you meet the requirements, you are promoted 2) At the end of events such as trainings, the host gives merits just as he or she would give recommendations. 3) The host sends the list of people receiving merits to the High Command and the High Command updates the database of low ranks. There will be a shared google document that list each low rank. It will include their rank, regiment, number of merits, and how many merits their rank requires. If the member is new and receiving a merit for the first time, the HC member adds the low rank’s information to the database. 4) Once you have enough merits to be promoted, the HC promotes you and resets your information in the database.
REQUIREMENTS Cadet - Pass a cadet training as described in the training manual Private - Two merits Lance Corporal - Two merits Corporal - Three merits Sergeant - Four Merits Sergeant Major - Five merits, a minimum of 3 weeks at the rank, and passing the Ensign Exam. (Contact Sy1892 to take the exam once you meet the requirements.)
*Amount of merits resets after each promotion*
