I'm writing this to help give a feel for the interviewing process for anybody who wants to intern for the web team and is eligible.
Some things about me that might be relevant: - I'm 18 in my first year at the University of California, San Diego studying Mathematics–Computer Science. They are looking for people 18+ pursuing a degree, preferably a B.S. in computer science or related field. - I have a strong background in machine learning and web development. - I know Java/C/C++, HTML/CSS/JavaScript/MySQL/MongoDB, and Python to a pretty high degree. Some experience with PHP and Perl. Experienced with Django, Flask, and Meteor web frameworks. I launch web servers on DigitalOcean.
** Note that I was late for web intern applications, so huge shoutout to DieSoft for making things work out for me and giving me the guts to try. :')
The first interview was a phone screening where I was asked to talk about things on my resume and ask questions about ROBLOX if I had any. This was one of the classic behavioral interviews that check for culture fit and see whether you can talk about what you accomplished with some depth.
Right after, I was emailed a link to a coding test with five programming questions and I had to write solutions to each in a given amount of time. Since I professed to know HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Java I was tested on those languages. Question 1 - 10 minutes Question 2 - 15 minutes Question 3 - 20 minutes Question 4 - 20 minutes Question 5 - 15 minutes
Relevant topics: language basics, string manipulation, scalability, data structure applications and design
About half a month later, I was then asked to do two phone interviews back-to-back. These interviews were live coding sessions with me on the phone talking with a senior engineer who could see me type code. I chose to use my primary interviewing language of choice, Python, because it isn't very verbose, fast for prototyping, and powerful.
Relevant topics: array manipulation/traversal, designing a database schema
It was a very exhausting process, but very rewarding. I ended up turning down KnuEdge (my current company) and Visa Inc. for ROBLOX for the summer.

But don't worry you won't go broke for flying over and renting a place, you'll be well over 0. |

"css"
I would make a snide comment there but you probably had to make a stylesheet from scratch and that's tedious lol |

@zach
Tbh if you can't even write a stylesheet from scratch without Twitter Bootstrap or whatever you really don't know HTML or CSS. c: |
